This reply has many parts. First I will address your concern for the provider you feel was over worked and is now a bitter person because of this line of work.
You say she is a mean bitter person and you feel it is because she was overworked and the service should have never allowed it. We don't force anyone to work We are not holding a gun to their head, (although I have heard stories of Pimps who do that very thing). Trust me, if they don't want to come in to work that day, they won't (and instead of telling you they are tired, need a break etc. they will make up the craziest excuses because they don't want you to think that they are working too much.) If you cut back on their hours, they freak out! They cry and think you don't like them anymore and want them to quit, they don't understand that what you are trying to do is actually in their best interest, most have such low esteems that they think you are punishing them. I give my girls time in between and let them choose how long, close to 50% of them actually ask to please don't give them any time as they want to see as many as they can. I insist on at least 15 minutes but if I would let them, they would do back to back. I also ask them how long they would like for an afternoon break to eat. 90% tell me they don't want a break, they have snacks with them and they will eat in between. I have some local ladies who would work 6 days a week open till close every week if I would let them. They are only allowed to work 3-4 days, no more than that. Visiting girls are the exception, because they come here for a short time and want to make as much as they can while here. Visiting ladies are only allowed to stay 7-10 days, anymore they get burnt out. When I decided to close on Sundays my visiting girls freaked out, they did not want a day off, but have no choice since we are not open.
If I do not keep these girls busy guess what? they will go elsewhere, someplace where they won't have a day off, they will be on 24 hours, they will have no breaks if possible. Or they will post ads on backpage and work all night long.
I actually had a woman work with me for many years who paid her way through school to become a lawyer, she finished, then passed the bar and got a job as a working lawyer. I had to actually fire her! I tried and tried to explain to her the dangers of getting caught working as an escort. She would be throwing all her hard work away. She didn't get it. I tried to tell her that if she opened the door and the client was a judge she knew or opposing counsel she would be throwing everything away. She just cried and said that I just didn't want her anymore! I loved her but I had to let her go for her own good. We do try to help them, but it doesn't sink in!
If this provider you are speaking of became bitter from being overworked, it is her own fault NOT the fault of the service, trust me 3 days a week with one week off a month is not that much (unless the days are from early morning to late night). This girl was probably also working on her own during her off time. She is a big girl, if she thought she was overworked, she could have said something, she could have taken a break , quit or switched services, but she didn't.
Now your concern about services not helping these girls. Do you work with a service? How do you know that they are not trying to help the girls? Here is a great example: Do you know how many times a day, everyday I remind the girls to make sure you get the donation? Guess what? they don't listen, it goes in one ear and out the other. At least twice a week a girl will call and ask me to call the client because they forgot to get the money. I had one lady who worked with me for 7 years and over that time, she forgot to get the money at least 40 times, if not more. ( she stopped telling and took it as a loss because I would get upset with her for always doing this). She was not a kid and she was very intelligent but again just like little kids, they don't listen and always think they know better. Helping them with their finances? Really? When I go to see them, they can't wait to show me their new Ipad or their 2,000. Louis Vuitton purse they bought. I ask them, "thats nice, but what about your rent, your car payment? They laugh and say "I am working tomorrow, I will pay it then." I tell them to always make sure they pay taxes and if they need help let me know. They laugh at me, seriously they can't make their rent and I expect them to pay taxes? I tell them they should save their money because they can't do this forever, they say they are saving but I know they haven't saved a dime. I can talk to them and try to help them and give them guidance till I am blue in the face, if they don't listen or care there is nothing I can do about it.
Now "Services are the worst kind of Pimps" because they take a cut from the girls? What, you think we should work for free? Do you have any idea what we exactly do? How much we spend? How many hours we work?
Let me explain and maybe you might change your views.
First I will say my personal opinion a 50./50 split is not fair to the girls but a 60/40 is the norm and well deserved for all that we do. I do a 65/35 but that is because my rates are lower.
1. first off we need to recoup all the money we spend.: Ads, memberships to TER, P-411-, Date Check. telephone bills ( with the volume we do, cells won't cover it we use special business lines). cell phone bills, web site costs, professional photo shoots, the girls flights and hotels, loss prevention, security, drivers, phone operators, office supplies, taxes.
We also need to get paid for all of our work.I personally put in put in close to 60 hours a week if not more. I am on call 24/7 for these girls, my cell phone is ALWAYS on.
We do all the screening, answering of emails, answer all the phones, write and post all the ads, post pictures, update the website daily, secure flights and hotels, drive them around, book all calls and keep track of them, do customer service for the clients, keep the girls safe, provide references for indys and and other services. After being in business for many, many years we have a nice core of regular, very loyal clients that we share with the ladies, clients that would not normally be accessible to them. Oh and don't forget we are also their therapists! We have to deal with all their drama, lying, crying, boyfriend,husband, and children issues. I am the one they call when they get into trouble. I go and get them in Boston when they lose their purse and car keys, I go and get them when they are running away from a bad situation. I go and try to sober them up when they have had too much to drink, I take them to rehab if needed and in a few cases I have paid for it out of my own pocket. I drive them to AA meetings since they lost their licence for a DUI.
I see services portrayed on TV and Movies and I laugh. Madams driving around in Mercedes and Bentleys, living in giant mansions with pools and and housekeepers, wearing designer clothes, living the high life. Ya right, not the way it really is at all. (Well maybe it is for a service like Aphrodite who has 20-30 girls working a day all over the word) But for my little local service trust me, I am definitely not rolling around in the dough.
This is what I do for my 35% cut. Trust me, we services deserve every cent and I am no way no how a pimp. I am a businesswoman who works harder than most people I know.
