1 alleged prostitute with a very detailed client list is indicted on 106 counts including a couple felonies.

In addition to a detailed client list Police recovered extensive VIDEO of sessions that were shot without the various clients knowledge!

This case is an unbelievable story with rumors of possible police and town officials being named as clients.

Bush Sr has a place there and many residents are considered quite wealthy by any definition.
It's a small town and rumors are flying since LE has had some past issues.....

The judge already recused herself and a new one has been appointed.
Arrest took place on VALENTINES DAY 2012 and documents were sealed- w/o reason.
Indictments came down THIS WEEK.

The defendant has made claims of LE harrassment.
A second defendant may have used the Maine DMV database as a method of running background checks on potential clients.

Also: if you are good with google you might just find a few xxx videos related to the case. I know 3-4 are still up of the 217 or so that were available.

I noticed in one of the MANY articles that popped, that the PROSECUTORS are trying to keep the list contents a secret until charges are brought (apparently against only SOME of the clients) in order to protect the privacy of all involved, charged or not.  Funny how the right to privacy is respected when there are high profile people involved, but discarded when it's some poor slob picking up a street walker or using a massage parlor (whose "Johns" are publicly outed on a regular basis)

As Dennis Miller used to say: "I don't want to go off on a rant here..."

Probably to put pressure on the alleged clients to force them to testify against the alleged prostitute.

Unless the alleged clients paid with credit card or by check, the police do not have proof.  Of course, that assumes that the various videos don't contain the payment or the discussion of services offered.

Because of past favoritism by LE toward the 1% population, there is an outcry from the general public in Kennebuck that is now supported with a suite brought by the local newspapers for release of the FULL and unedited client list.

The DA's office may have no choice but to disclose the list and this may be why all the indictments for the johns. The defense has threatened to call everyone on the list as witness. The threat of exposure to the 1% was probably meant as a threat in order to get a dismissal. With the DA going after the johns, this strategy may have backfired.

The articles I saw implied that the DA was not committed to pursuing charges against ALL of the listed clients, but rather SOME of them. Quote from one of the articles:

“There is a so called 'client list' with names and contact and other personal information regarding individuals on the list. The state will likely charge many of these persons with prostitution related offenses, but some of these persons may not be charged,” wrote Bernstein in a letter accompanying the proposed protective order. “The state seeks to be respectful of the constitutional rights of persons before they are charged, as well as of those who will not be charged.”

Now it could be that they don't think they will have a case against all of them, orrrrr, it could be that some will get a big-wig pass.

Personally, for the sake of my fellow mongers, I hope the list gets "lost" in the evidence locker.

I have a very good friend, hobbiest who saw her and I'll just say he know's first hand what happened on Valentine's Day. To say the least he's shaking in his boot's. Talk about Peyton Place this even tops that!!!
Even if a name is on her client list it doesn't mean squat unless they have actual proof of an exchange of money for services. This is going to be very interesting to see what happens.

Other than the 'shame factor' there shouldn't be a case - the taping was illegal without both parties consent, it is illegal to produce porn without model releases and 2257 forms for all participants, etc. Admitting illegally obtained evidence should be a major hurdle. *** I'm not a lawyer but sometimes pretend to be one on the internet...***

Yes she taped the sessions w/o consent. I think those videos or the existance of them will be making an appearance as evidence.
ON the list of indictments against the woman, every other line alternated between prostitution and invasion of privacy. I don't know how this will impact any case against the johns but I suspect everyones lawyer to be making motions to suppress.
