I should have thought of the Charles Hotel. I've been there many times, and the bar is truly lovely and quite chic. I'll be sure to make a visit.

Thank you, and I'm sorry I won't get to see you this time around, darling!

Martini lovers, unite! That is to say-- I need your expertise. I lived in Boston for many years during my corporate life (well, Medford, Somerville, Brighton, and Waltham)but it's been quite a while since I visited Cambridge.

Where can a thirsty girl find a great drink in Harvard Sq?

(If I'm lucky, maybe someone would like to join me! My traveling partner Allie is a teetotaler.)

Post here or PM if you have recommendations, please!

lasciviously yours,

Tabu

the bar at the Charles Hotel is really quite good, and I recall having several delicious drinks there not too long ago.

One of them might have been a martini, but after a few, who can remember?

In the charles hotel theres Noir , and the Regattabar ( witch is outdoors ) both are phenomanal places in Harvard sq , especially now that its nice out , all the little outdoor patios to resteraunts are gonna be open , maybe Ill take you out for a drink

The West Side Lounge on Mass Ave (1688 I think). Best martini in town. Check their website.

The bar at th eChalres Hotel is called Noir. it doesnt open until 4 pm and stays open very late. Drinks there are very good and expensive. It used to be called the Tii bar. Would love to meet you there and have a few !!

Harvaaad Square???  The place is infested with pencil neck geeks and yuppies.  You may be better off making your own.  You supply the olives I will bring yhe rest.

For a somewhat different, but also authentic Harvard Square experience, and a very nice bar with great food, I'd recommend Casablanca, 40 Brattle Street.  Less than a 5 min. walk from Noir.
