By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he's wrong.

He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.

I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it.

If the new American father feels bewildered and even defeated, let him take comfort from the fact that whatever he does in any fathering situation has a fifty percent chance of being right.

It's only when you grow up, and step back from him, or leave him for your own career and your own home – it's only then that you can measure his greatness and fully appreciate it. Pride reinforces love.

There must always be a struggle between a father and son, while one aims at power and the other at independence.

A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child.

It is a wise father that knows his own child

Sometimes the poorest man leaves his children the richest inheritance.

I've had a hard life, but my hardships are nothing against the hardships that my father went through in order to get me to where I started.

It doesn't matter who my father was; it matters who I remember he was.

One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters
The father who does not teach his son his duties is equally guilty with the son who neglects" them

man's children and his garden both reflect the amount of weeding done during the growing season

A father is a guy who has snapshots in his wallet where his money used to be

When I was 17, I thought my father was the dumbest man alive.  By the time I was 21, I was amazed at how much he had learned in just 4 years!

time flys.happy fathers day to all that are.but well wishes to people that miss there fathers that are gone.and think of your best times that make you laugh......cuz you know the ones......

doing all the things that still stay with me ....like washing under my lawnmower, hanging my tools all back up on the hooks on my workbench, fixing that leaky faucet, trim 1/3 the lilac bush, add lime to my soil...all those things he taught me to do......stuff I never seem to get to til Fathers day....then i pick a white rose from my garden and wish him and myself ,peace

What great way to honor your father. You inspire me to be a better son to my father.

Who made you the person that you are today.  Mine gave me everything. Taught me how to treat others, the value of getting an education, instilled in me a work ethic. Whatever good character traits I may have are directly attributable to my Dad.  I came up with my character flaws myself, in his absence.

Took me deep sea fishing despite the fact that he gets seasick and didn't like fish. Took me to countless Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots games.  He was the first one I thought of when the Pats won the Superbowl in 2001, and when the Red Sox won it in 2004.  Those memories remain with me always.  I still feel the magic when I go into Fenway hand on heart. Like the saying goes, "When your life flashes before your eyes, make sure you have plenty to watch".  When my life flashes before me, my father will have a major part in that movie.

Left me with an appreciation for Frank Sinatra. To honor him, I'll play the vinyl Sinatra albums that I still have.  This was his favorite and accordingly, it is mine as well.  After all, I am still my father's son.
