Only to realize I am at a 6th grade math level and it will take eons to get a ged.
Only gig I could get was cashier at McDonald's or bussing tables.
I am giving up on the white picket fence civvies
I will never be a soccer mom. I hope some old customer will take me for drinks on revere beach this week I need to be cheered up. Xo

but it doesn't sound like you are thrilled to be back here.

Sorry things didn''t work out for you. I will say one thing positive though, your math skills might be at the 6th grade level, but your writing skills seem to be much improved from when you were here last. I am sure someone will be more than happy to take you out for drinks, I do remember you having quite a few fans here before you left to have your baby. Heck, I'd take you out myself if I didn't live several states away. AAR welcome back even if you aren't here simply because you missed us. lol

Most ladies have left the business and had to return at one time or another.

Would you consider becoming a bartender? I was one for 7 years. Google bartending schools in the Boston area. I'm a certified bartender in CT and FL. Most bartending courses are less than $500 and offer lifetime job placement.

Meanwhile, just get back out there. I hope a nice gentlemen takes you out for a cocktail this weekend.

I swear I was. I was thinking about some folks that are no longer active any you were one of the  first I thought about.  I figured you were off as the lead singer of a rock and roll group somewhere.   Welcome back...

Angelexotic (and other providers),

never, ever, ever, ever,  give up on pursuing education.
It takes a while to get back into the routine of studying and doing homework.
There are programs that help people get their Adult GED. You should look for one and consider enrolling in one.

Education is something no one can ever take away from you.

Hi Angel! I hope that you and The Little Angel are doing well.
.
I seem to recall that you were well known for providing grooming services.  Which leads me to wonder ...
.
I knew someone who was planning to make the transition to the Cosmetology / Beautician / Hair biz.  I have no idea whether the schools and their claims are reputable (see link). The other problem is that beauty school probably costs more and takes more time than bar tending school. And I think that cosmetology / beauty stuff is state regulated to make sure that anyone practicing it knows all the safety rules, health rules, sterilization rules, etc., etc..
.
Massage therapy! There is Licensed Therapeutic Massage and Certified Massage Therapy. Once again, it requires book learning to becomes LTM or CTM. It's state regulated to make sure that anyone squeezing and pulling muscles and joints knows what they are doing.
.
Some people have trouble with book math and abstract math tests ("A train leaves Los Angeles traveling at 60 MPH ... ... ... What color is the conductors hair?). But they are much better at applied math: "A client wants (this) color hair tint. What is the formula?" "That's easy! Her hair is around 16 inches long. At 0.2 ounces per inch, that's 3.2 ounces. I mix two parts #3 orange + 5 parts #12 brown and a smidgen of #42 white."
.
EDIT: Forgot the link.
.
(It was a trick question: the conductor is bald.)

This is first and foremost a job.

Me?  I'm Bipolar.  When I graduated from college my dad said "I'm proud of you but you'll never work a day in your life, you have too much of your mother in you" - that was southern for "you will have difficulty maintaining focus, you will alternate between operating at your full potential and going to sleep for weeks at a time unable to function with the public or see things without a black or white perspective".

I watched my mother trash every friendship / relationship she ever had, work at the pleasure of her clients in her business for two years, go down sleeping for two years at a time, on and off.

No matter how you come to this business it is a business.  You take care of people and make them happy. Angel you always had a big following in Boston - returning to your clients?  There is no shame in that.  Our clients take care of us are interested in what we are doing and our well-being. Just people taking care of people.

You sound depressed and I hope that you're able to get over that and your heart is soothed by the people who love you.

But don't lament "un-retiring" - you know how to do it, you're good at it, you can make money at it, get a good assistant and relax.  You can always figure out what your passion is while you're working- I introduced a girl to sensual massage two years ago, she loved it, she went to school for it and that was her ticket to retirement at the time when it was right for her and her heart was moving in a different direction.    Its all good, don't fret, welcome back and don't think of this business as a trap, think of it as a job, a stepping stone and a path to freedom.

For your standing in the community,
I always felt you sold yourself short.

I also know that you let some people
take advantage of that ... its Ok to be
"generous" with your time (not a clock
watcher?)  but stay true to your pricing model.

My final suggestion, being the hooker that I am, LOL... Set up your pricing model and perhaps offer a welcome back rate to customers for maybe 30 days or so, and then move to your new model, a what you need to make money model, and stay true to that. I think that will serve you well for the long-term.

Frankly you're a bit too nice and I think there are people that take advantage of that and took advantage of you.

Most importantly, play safe. You know I always liked you as a person, and I mean that (playing safe) for everyone all the time, but you especially.

and never give up on your goals and dreams.  I personally think this biz is awesome. Been very good to me thru my years and the awesome gents I have met and see regularly.  Work on your education no matter what - I have seen a lot of online options for that as well.  (studying for GED, etc)
