and some gals aren't tech savvy enough to figure out how to switch them to open access.

There are some threads about how to do it, probably on the Newbie Board, if you do some research

1. Some providers will put more graphic photos or unblurred face shoots in that section, also helps to keep the photos from being borrowed.

2. Data mining,  this is a smart way for a provider to collect email address of potential clients, that way they can sent out a mass email about an upcoming visit or specials she may have.  

If they are using a free website, the webmaster might be doing this for collecting email address, remember they are worth money to someone.  

3. If they are using one of the free websites for, sometimes the webmaster will lock some of the photos  and charge you to see the them. (This has been talked about before)  

Providers might be doing this to to make a few extra bucks.

Not gotten the password when you asked for it. Lol

fool me once ... ok, twice and I won't play any more.
And then that time when you do get it, it doesn't  work! LOL

On some of the cookie cutter sites with lockout by default, the fee, if paid, goes to the website and the provider doesn't even know that her pictures are locked until someone asks her what's up.

To the other poster: Keeping some pictures behind a paywall is one thing, but there should be enough freebies for us to get an idea of what's back there or to call for an appointment
