I was surfing around and went to upscaleincall's site. Out of curiousity I clicked on "scumbags". They've listed a guy that gave one of the girls a hard time. Wow, that's a first, or at least I think it is. What are everyone's thoughts on that?
Any agency that post a person's name phone # etc means one thing STAY AWAY..they keep records of everyone. You never know when they may turn on you for any reason
If anybody who has been added to the "scumbag" list has the time and energy to pursue it, they could probably get a very nice judgement against them in a lawsuit for defamation of character, libel, and a couple of other charges.
Since the whole issue of just who is a "scumbag" is totally opinion, and they probably have no real proof of what happened (As mentioned by others it is simply a "He said, She said issue"), they really have very little to stand on legally.
Publishing full names/addresses and other info can only do one thing, get that site into trouble. When you start doing things like this, it causes problems. That is why TER I believe bans the posting of names and addressess.
A better option would be for them to have that type of page, but have an email address where they personally will email anybody who asks the information, and also add a disclaimer to the top of the page saying something like "This is our opinion of these/this person that we believe he is like, etc.." which gives some denialability to the information.
Well this is rather alarming. I'm not foolish enough to think an agency wouldn't have the info I gave them, but for them to post it is just a bad policy. For all we know this "sean" character simply posted a bad review and they decided to take "revenge" (not that I'm saying that is what happened). It is very bad policy for an agency/independent to show an open willingness to display a persons name, whatever the reason. I think it is fine to back channel that information amoungst other agencies or independents to help protect people. But outing them on a website is just wrong on so many levels.
I agree with the people who think that it is wrong. I was even more shocked when I went back to look at the site and found that they would even post a name and address if a person booked an appointment and then didn't show up. That's completely out of line. Yes, in a perfect world a person can call to cancel but that isn't always possible. What if someone has an accident on the way or another kind of emergency that makes it impossible to make a call. Then your name goes on their board. I think that they could have probably just put themselves out of business. This service is dangerous.
