Hey can someone tell me if Boston has any brothels, in-call houses or high class madammes?
I'm thinking of something like the Mustang Ranch or Bunny Ranch in Las vegas, or the former Heidi Fleiss's house in Hollywood.

I have a friend who works for a madamme in New York and the madamme keeps her girls in two high rise apartments in Manhattan and they see a higher end clientele.

I'm wondering if Boston has someplace really nice where the girls stay for like a week or a month or I dunno something like that.

As you can see I'm not entirely informed on that of which I seek answers about but I've just heard about these places and I'm really interested in working for one.

I've even thought about moving to vegas to do so, lol

But if there are any in MA does anyone know?

feel free to PM me if you don't want to discuss it on the board.

I think you adn some of your counter parts should rent a boat, with rooms, get a bunch of clients, head out past the us waters into international waters and have a floating brothel, if they can do it with gambling im sure its legal for you too

Dear Garethadr,

The idea you describe would be a clear violation of the Mann Act, one of the too many federal laws that can bite you if you try such an enterprise.

Of course, as you note in your post, you can do similar thing for gambling!

Best regards,

Milton

It is legal in the surrounding counties though, around a 1 hour drive away.

You are right about it being illegal in Vegas.  Same for Reno. Actually it's the counties that they are in as well as the cities.  The odd thing is it isn't LEGAL in the other counties, it just isn't ILLEGAL.  An interesting technical issue don't you agree?

I thought the Mann act involved transporting underage girls accross state lines..(for immoral purposes!!) ??  How would that apply for a boat sailing out 20 mi or so..then returning??

(except that LE could probably apply just about any law they wanted wherever they thought they could get away with it).

There used to be several very low key brothels in various apartments in Back Bay..and one, notably, in what as left of the old West End  (building is now demolished).  This was in the late 70's early 80's.  I lost track of them..but I'd be very surprised if they don't still exist, in one degree or another..for the right clientele

Curious...aren't you splitting hairs. I know that I'm generalizing but, isn't everything that isn't illegal, legal? As a society, we log those acts that are defined as illegal acts in our published laws. We don't have a second log for everything that IS legal. Am I missing something?

A little research shows that you are (probably) correct.  It's not just underage girls.

Also seems like it has been amended several times so that it can be used pretty much any way they feel like they want to.  Chuck Berry was convucted on the Mann Act.  Also seems like it was amended in 1917 to include any kind of sexual activity..including, basically any out of wedlock sex. (Fornication is still illegal in a lot of states, too!!!)

And, again..in 1986 it was tweaked aain to include whomever buys tickets for girls travelling out of state..and to foreign lands (hence the out of territorial waters)..and also to include males being transported.... how thoughtful.

The Mann who originally wrote it in 1910 was a reformer who wrote the Pure Food and Drugs act and introduced legislation for women's equality.  For a law that was originally intended to make White Slavery  (which I guess at one time was pretty common) illegal; it didn't take too long to get warped..did it?

Wonder how this applies to the travelling Florida girls, BTW??

He is correct..I'm told that it's apparently set up that way intentionally specifically so it can be controlled by LE.  They'll look the other way ..in certain counties..presumably assuming the right palms are greased.  You were expecting LE to be logical or ethical???

thank you, finally a decent response to the actual question i asked

I lived in Europe and prostitution was legal.  The providers were actually on strike because they felt they were being taxed too much.  If it were just a matter of LE looking the other way I seriously doubt that the prostitutes would have been on TV voicing their objections.

The comment for Vicki going to LE to find out the real answer was a little uncalled for.  She was just inquiring about a different approach to her profession.  I wish it were legal Vicki.  Life would be a hell of alot easier!!

Hugs,
Rose

Yes th elegality of brothels in Nevada pertains to counties with populations less than 100,000 people, which in that case, the ratio of willing women to men is supposed to be far less than in populations greater and the need for brothels is there,

bu tthats where you are wrong, in order to be a licensed brothel in nevada, or a licensed prostitue working ina brothel, you have to be license through the county sheriff department, and have the neccessary health certifications, so the certifications, and licenses, being required,is what make sit legal
