Most gals prefer the Copley Square area, but I'm fine with any area.  My favorite is the Route 128/Mass Pike area as it is convenient for me and you don't have to hassle with downtown parking.

Be aware that Boston hotel prices are very high starting late Sept through October.

Sounds obvious but around here that means Copley/Back Bay (likely $250+ per night but since it's convenient may be worth it) or near route 93, 95, 128, 495 (in that order).  The 'burbs are cheaper but not by much.  In general hotels (at least the ones I'd be comfortable visiting) are expensive in the Boston area.  TER, Preferred 411, eros, and cityvibe are all good places to post.  Avoid backpage unless you are high volume/low cost.  It attracts hagglers, bargain hunters, etc, same as craigslist did.  Nothing wrong with looking for a good deal but I don't get the impression that's the kind of person you are trying to attract.
