I remember when this was a friendly place to find information, share stories, give helpful hints. For Provider to post their schedule, to have some fun banter with the guys etc.

When did all this change? Now all you read is mean posts most done under an alias, belittleing the ladies on their rates, availabliity, services, posting style hell even their spelling!  Cat fights between Providers. Fights between guys and the ladies, Guys just being mean for no reason etc. So much negativity! Does this really help anyone?

My god, didnt your Mother ever tell you, "If you don't have anything nice to say, then keep your mouth shut".

If a lady wants to post her availablity a few weeks early, so be it. If a lady is not your style, skip her post, don't belittle her on her appearance. If you don't like her rates, don't see her, find someone in your price range, Girs, if you dont like a guy, don't see him, dont take it to the boards (unless he is a bad guy then that is a different story).

I am not perfect, my spelling sucks, I can be abrasive and sometimes rude, but I am not mean just to be mean. I would never hide under an alias so I could post a rude comment about someone. To me that is just wrong.

You all should be out getting laid, that might put you all in a better mood to be nice to people.

Go ahead and bash me for this post, I know a lot of you are just dying to. lol

Jill:)

I've seen this going on alot more frequently on other city boards also. I think it is rude  and creates an intimidating environment for some of the girls for fear that they will have a negative comment underneath their ad posting.

I don't know why some guys feel it is important for everyone to know the budget or the contents that are in their wallet. BUT ITS NOT.

Alias have been taken advantage of and I would not miss them from the National and Regional with the exception on the Legal Corner and The Erotic Highway Boards. It is cowardly and I see it is used alot to start trouble or broadcast someone's idiotic opinion.

Who are afraid of pissing off the women that they are attacking.

If you cannot post it under your usualy username, then do not post it!

Of course there are those who say that every name on this site is an alias.   I disagree with that sentiment.   Using your normal board name is one thing.  Using a different unknown name is a different beast.

I am not afraid to say exactly what is on my mind.   I might piss off a few people, but in the end I sincerely hope that everybody understands that I respect everybody, and certainly wish no ill-will on anybody.

While what I say might anger some, I most certainly can say that I believe in everything I write.

My only comment on Jill's post is that yes I responded to a "white-knight" post for two women visiting who rates were so far above the norm for Boston.  While their prices in Vegas might be the norm, their rates here were way above what the lucky men of Boston are used to paying to top notch talent here.  If they are busy, then more power to them.  I wish them luck, and hope they are as busy as they want to be.

Jill,

Tough times, thats whats happening.

Less money on both sides means the same number of women chasing less dollars.  Of course competition among the ladies is going to get nasty.

The guys are trying to get the same level of activity from less dollars and are driving harder bargains.

How many ladies are doing side deals for discounted, non published rates???

I was just having this conversation with a few people recently. It's not fun anymore. Where are the jokes and bantering all in good fun? I know I've posted a couple of things recently that were a little abrupt but at least I use my handle. Aliases use to have a place on the board like said above, to ask sensitive questions. For ladies to speak freely without being flamed. Now we, as ladies, can't even speak our minds on a sensitive issue for fear of TER flipping our alaises that was in place to protect us. Personally, I speak my mind under my handle but there are ladies who would rather not when it comes to some questions on the boards.
There are so many people who have left this board and don't post anymore because of the reasons stated by everyone. It's a real shame because they were part of the fun.
I miss what the board use to be as well.

And I agree with Jill in many ways! Everyone should be out getting laid and chill out!

I don't think that aspect of the Board has changed.

I will say that in the past there have been times when the entertainment value has been greater than it is now.

As for alias, I'll admit that I post under alias from time to time due to my attempt to be funny or to avoid detection as a frequent poster.

I will continue to post under an alias but not to slam someone on the Board.  For the record, I post as ZenGypsy, flyin fauxpas, and poor olde sod.

I guess I should have created an alias for this post, The Contrarian, ya that's the ticket.  (trying to bring some levity to the thread rather than negativity)

("ya that's the ticket" stolen from John Lovitz as Tommy Flanagan, the SNL Pathological Liar!)

I for one haven't been around the boards too, too often, but I have noticed a quick turn-around from positive/neutral to negative.

Perhaps it's the stress of life on people that's permeating onto the boards, who knows. But I do agree, if you don't have anything nice/positive to say, just keep your pie hole shut.

Sure I'm all down for a civil debate, but flaming is just plain immature.

And by all accounts, we're all grown men and women here, not the pre-teens that occupy the majority of internet forums.

Just my two cents and keep the change.

Portdog, as usual, is right. It seems the same old place to me. I haven't been around forever, so maybe I missed a Golden Age, but I tend to doubt it.

I think it's the same lack of civility among people that we're seeing everywhere now.

The hobby has changed a lot since I first read TER.  I think some of that has carried over to the boards.  The level of precaution and screening that takes place has, IMHO, made things a tad more serious. (i'm not critiquing screening).  It seems like the stakes have been raised for all involved and due, at least in part to that people have become more closed off in general.  When I first started, I never had to go through screening because I was recognized by a number of local ladies.  That in turn, made me want to participate a bit more simply because it made why I was here easier and I developed some cyber relationships that allowed me to meet ladies.

I'd also point out that when I first started it seemed like there were more indy women posting and livening things up.  Now it seems like there are fewer indy's with stronger personalities (AR certainly excluded) and that too has changed the vibe.

In addition, TER has become more popular and any time any thing gets bigger that "sense of community" suffers.  We have more random women posting a quick hit scheduling opportunity, ladies looking for sugar daddies and men who could give a shit about how they are perceived so long as they end up getting some tail.

Not to sound like an old fart longing for the "good old days" but this place was more fun when it was more of a clique and people had a reason to be invested in the community.  At the same time TER Boston is still a far cry from TBD Boston and that is a good thing.

I'm done rambling.  Peace out.

Oh yeah, aliases pretty much suck.

I have not been active for a while.  Back when I thought there was a serious need, I researched a number of scam/bait-switch Eros ads and posted my findings here.

I hid behind an alias knowing the real people who scam tend to be the most vindictive (and dangerous) in real life.
