Whatever lead the moderator to delete the entire discussion about LOB, I think it was wrong.  

We're adults, and this story is all over the news.

Whoever deleted the thread is subscribing to the same argument that results in censorship of adult entertainment material; that watching or talking about something alone will lead to bad results.  

You can not "out" someone who is already out.  

Is her life better off now that the six posts are off the board?  I doubt it.  Perhaps I will call her tomorrow and find out.  I think I know what the answer will be.

It is OK to discuss Lisa's situation. However linking to article that contains her NAME, ADDRESS and the rest of personal info in not advisable.

Do you not realise that ALL of your TER posts are GOOGLEable?

Undless you go and  edit every single one of them they are there forever in cyberspace?

So assume that she beats the charges and her records are clean .. someone googles your ter hangle and voila .. stumbles on the article!

I don't know how to tell you this, but TER is is NOT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE.  

Just Google "L. O. B. and Salem and police."  There's tons of publicity out there.  A "link" on TER would only show up on Google as a link.

I have been involved in national dust-ups.  The last thing you care about is whether a web site reposted a news report.

And, yes, I presumed they confiscated her phone.  That's why it was a good thing that someone posted something about this, so that she wasn't getting calls.

I'm the guy whose post was yanked and, you know what -- I should never have put it up there with the links. So I'm GLAD the post was yanked.

The reason I thought the links were important is because they described how the cop pulled it off -- and providers can learn from this.

However, the links also did contain LOB's real name and age. That shouldn't be here, even if a matter of public record.

Obviously, as a matter of now very public record, anyone who types her stage name into google news can find the same info. So it hasn't been "censored." It just doesn't belong HERE. Without it being here, 99% of hobbyists will never know about it. And, really, they don't need to.

I've been told that full and complete info is on the provider board -- and that is where it should stay.

Posting personal private info on TER boards is grounds for Banning ! (Even if it's gone viral, or public).  Johngaltnh should lurk & listen because he has ZERO concept of this hobby, but runs his diarrhea mouth incessantly !

TER has a policy regarding the posting of anyone's real-world identity. It doesn't matter if it's in the text of the post or in a linked article.  If you don't like the policy you can always go start your own site...

There is a thread below that discusses the issues at hand without mentioning any names.  That thread is still up and will probably remain up unless some idiot screws it up by posting inappropriate information on it.

I think it's fairly comical that you are bitching about censorship while hiding behind an alias. What are you afraid of? It's not like your handle is your REAL name.

Maybe the mod will flip some aliases if you think we all should know everything.  Guy or girl your an ass. This is not meant to be malicious just brutally honest.

Well I may have to question that.

I have looked back and found 4 posts so far that have links to article, that have the name and address of the women busted.  I also noticed that not one person who replied to the posts made any kind of comment about personal information being post on the board.

I just find it funny that no one had a problem with this 6 to 8 months ago. But now all hell is breaking loose over it.

Was it the fact that some of the women busted posted on Cl and this person didn't post on CL.

Something to think about.
