I work with agency that i will not name and they keep telling me it is real slow.  When i was indy (about 2yrs ago)i was always booked up but now i can go several days without seeing someone.  I was wondering is business been that slow or is the problem with the agency.  The agency does have a good rep.  So i guess i am more or less wondering if it slow for everyone.

Any girl that enjoys her work should be as busy as she wants to be.  Overpricing will kill an indi's business, but agencies usually find (or adjust) their pricepoint rather quickly.

Cannot comment on your specific case without seeing your reviews.  PM me if you want.

Curious as to why you would go from indi to agency.  Most of the time this works the other way.

Well I was originally with an agency then they went out of business and they got me set up independent.  Living with roommates and trying to be discrete on the phone was hard which is why I went with an agency.  I have been on the schedule 5 days in the last week and havent seen anyone just was wondering if it was slow for everyone or if i should go back to being indy.

No, it is not slow for everyone, though "slow" is subjective and you really won't find your answer here.

Having worked with several services and briefly, a house, I will say that I loved working with services and I would do it again- but it does take some work and effort finding the most productive partnership.

I would say that the general market / economy is not always the reason that an individual provider isn't faring well with a service (which isn't to say that  lack of business is the fault of the service, it's management or its telephone operators).

You have to consider how many providers are actively working in your service, what hours they are available and which hours you are available, the location/proximity of the other providers to you during shared hours and whether there is anyone comparable to you in the service (in terms of appearance, performance and approach), how you are being advertised etc.

Successfully working with a service involves several components, including fitting with the service's market/brand and appealing to its established clientele, trust in the management and cooperation in terms of your availability and reliability.

If they're telling you its slow and you are unable to gauge whether or not that is true I suggest you view the review profiles of other providers represented by the service.
If other ladies are being reviewed weekly or monthly or you see a great deal of positive feedback for the service on TER or other review websites, maybe it's just you and you haven't found the appropriate representation for your business.  If you don't see any feedback or "hype" for your current service, maybe they are truly slow.

Additionally, every provider isn't an instant gold mine for a service- sometimes there is a slow burn, a build in momentum and you could see increased appointments in future weeks.

If you have a few reviews here on TER, be sure to check out the Provider Only Board, many providers could offer insight into agency life.

Good luck with everything and don't fret. Like DTLover said, if you enjoy what you do- everything will take care of itself.  In the meantime do some of your own research on the activity of the service and take control of yourself.  As I said above cooperation and trust in the service that you choose to work for is essential- but you can't expect the magic to happen without being informed and aware of the business that the service is doing.

Just a guess: in terms of the economy at large, it's a very different world out there from 2 years ago (Spring 2008), so I think that's at least a large part of the difference you are seeing.
