Social science/psychology studies are particularly vulnerable to outcomes that support - big surprise here - the researcher's hypothesis. But there are two questions that arise from this article and whether it's a crock: 1) are "older" women more into sex than younger women? In my hobbying experience, that would be "yes," allowing for grouping the barely thirtysomethings (including the divinely beautiful and sensual Grace) into the "older" category. Of course, that may be because older/mature women are more attracted (or less turned off) by my middle-age looks and demeanor. But from the attitudes and comments of women I know socially (but not biblically), I would still say yes. 2) If yes, then is it related to an evolutionary instinct for procreation? This one can't be proven either way, only hypothesized.
Using CL to collect survey data should NOT invalidate the authors' interpretations concerning question 1. Although the CraigsList respondants were likely adults seeking to hook-up, the CL provider/respondent demographic is skewed towards the "younger" twentysomethings, just based on the claimed ages of ladies posting ads. I further suspect that they would not likely misrepresent their libido in such a survey, any more than any other cross-section of the population.
Either way, a way cool post and intruiging article.
Now I understand why I'm hornier than I was when I was younger. Although the article is interesting, it doesn't explain why I still lust after mature gentlemen.
I better get my mind back on my studies and stop thinking about sex or I'll flunk my finals this week.
