Penelope -

sadly this happens all the time.  I'm not sure what recourse there really is other than to get the word out on here or similar venues.  I have definitely been "tricked" by folks before and it's just really sad and completely self defeating....I just walked out of the situation....not really sure what else you can do.

I hope you a fun St. Patrick's day and get to celebrate with some wonderful friends to see how nice folks can be.

Have a great day!

When I first entered this world three months ago, most of the people I met were wonderful and kind. However, it seems that some people in the Boston community are outright vicious. A fake ad was posted using pictures and material from my personal website, along with some stuff meant to violate TER rules. The phone number and email did not even connect to me. Does a provider have any recourse for something like this? Providers and hobbyists, have you encountered this kind of thing before, and how did you handle it?

First off were are the ads posted on TER, Eros or BP?

You can contact the site and ask the at the ads be pulled down, TER will be the most helpful with this, but the other 2 might take some time, if they even do it at all.

If it is on other site that just repost ads for BP, You most likely will have very little luck getting them to pull the ad.

Posting here and letting people know this has happened to you is one of the best things you can do.

Good luck, and if your Irish today could be your day

I have seen girls who put a faint watermark over their photos that has their website on top of their body or their face.  This may help for future violations, but I'm sure that doesn't help with the photos that were already stolen.

Not in the same category, but I had a review I'd posted here about a provider I admire and adore copied and posted to another review site. They used the review verbatim and even linked to an email I don't use anymore. I only found out because this provider is sharp and on top of her brand and she emailed me after seeing the "new review."

Fortunately it was nothing bad - the content thief even rated her 5 bananas (quite correctly!). But it's a mystery why someone would steal a review and post it on another site. My theory is that other sites are swiping content from TER to make themselves larger and more useful, but it could be some weird jealous mindgame played by a competitor, too.

Penelope, we have not met, but after looking at your site, I can see why people might want to steal it - it's very professional and you are exceptionally photogenic. For the same reasons, it isn't hard to imagine someone feeling envious, though their actions seem just plain evil.

Hopefully it will all get sorted out and things will return to normal for you soon.

It not a big surprise that things  like this happen.

You have a jealous provider who is mad that business is not going well and blames a provider for it, or one of her regulars decides to go see another provider. She is mad that she has lost his business. She wants to get revenge on that provider for what she thinks is her stealing her clients. When that provider did nothing wrong.

A hobbyest  will do something like that if they think a provider has done him wrong, not doing BB, refusing to see him again because he is a creep , won't give him OTC time, or discounts.

We have had over the past few years, agency websites that have been hacked. Why would anyone hack an agency site unless they wanted them out of business, Hackers like to brag about the sites they hack, a local escort agency is not a big  deal.

The people that hack Ashley Madison, that was one to brag about.

Sorry again this happened to you I hope you get it fixed soon.

I don't post there...I may have put a profile there a couple of years ago, never an ad.

Also, gentlemen may post reviews on a site you may not even know exists and it could show up on your TER profile. If this occurs you can file a problem report and they will remove the link. Nobody is setting out to maliciously hurt you in this scenerio, they took your TER profile much as they have many of ours.

I am so perplexed why TER would delist a provider in this situation. I've looked at the ad on myproviderguide and it's clearly fake. The contact information doesn't match with the provider's. More importantly, what provider would so publicly request good reviews in exchange for a discount? It makes little sense to me and is a clear loophole in TER rules.

The fact that another provider had the same thing happen to her makes me think that this was perpetrated by another local provider. Is anyone else troubled by this direct attack on someone else's livelihood?

Are you listening TER

OP didn't mention being delisted and I wouldn't remember my username and/or password, if I even have one, to the site mentioned,  to see the said infraction.

Finding out who did this is going to be a big Mystery, i doubt the website will give up the name of the name of the person who did this.

I hope the website will block the person who did this from every doing it again.

Again happy you go it all worked out.

Don't forget writing fake reviews, I'm dealing with that issue currently myself. :(

Penelope,

Just so you know that TER is based in Amsterdam, which is about 7 hours ahead of us, so right now it's 11:00pm.
The people who handles these problem my have gone home for the day.

Also if you seen  when you write them, they say it may take up to 72 hours for them to respond to a request.
Granted I have never seen or heard of that happening, but be patient.

Also take the time to make this a learning experience.
In your post you said you were worried about your income and in this post your survival.
It sounds like to me this is your only income, you have nothing to fall back on, Now is your chance to change that.
Hey you can make some great money, but you will no be making that kind of money forever. Times changes, who guys want to see changes, your phone and email my be busy now, but that does not mean it is going to last.

Most women are smart enough to have a back up income when times are tough, this is your chance protect yourself from things like this.

Just so you know, the old story of a knight in shining armor to come is save you is never going to happen.
Plan ahead and make sure that you take care of your needs, no one is going to do it for you.

Like I said I hope things work out for the best.

I set an appointment with a Boston area provider about a month ago when she was visiting my town. Her profile was delisted about a week before our appointment. I contacted her to check in about it. She told me another Boston provider created a fake ad on BP with her pix offering discounts for 10/10 reviews. The perpetrator then allegedly notified TER and she was delisted.
I post this under an alias because I'm not sure who to believe. The provider I saw was 10/10 rated before delisting when she certainly wasn't IMHO. Maybe she was offering discounts for high reviews and got caught at it. As evidence, she emailed me after our session - yeah I went ahead with it even though I was already suspicious - telling me she created a new profile, asked me to review her, and dictated a review for me to post under my handle. I didn't, obviously, and dropped it until I read the OP here. It got me thinking, is the provider I saw involved in this delisting? Is someone else targeting another Boston provider, proving the story I was told was true? I just don't know

Believe it or not, backpage is very quick to respond (under one hour) if you send them a DMCA Notice of Copyright Infringement. The only issue is they won't keep a record of it on file, so you'll have to do it every time you find an ad using your pics

I don't understand why some hobbyists intentionally will do this.  It only hurts them in the long run.

I was asked to write a glowing review for a provider I used to see as a regular because she was struggling at the time but I refused to do so.

It seems fake.... Maybe a personal vendetta? Maybe another provider wasn't happy she was crowned as miss Ter? Sometimes I think that those things are bound to happen no matter what we do. We just gotta keep doing what we are doing and hope most people will see thru the bs.

I think ur reviews and ur personality clearly shows ure an awesome person. So I wouldn't believe if u got one bad review in a sea of 10s lol

Yes, someone else (most likely a Boston provider)  targeted Penelope and the other provider you met about a month ago. Identical attack style as Penelope said. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. It all makes sense.  Thanks TER for waking up and fixing Penelope's profile. Hope the other provider gets hers resolved too.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you! Do you have any idea who might be targeting you? I never understand what kind of person takes the time to mess with not only someone's reputation, but also her livelihood - maybe even her only source of income. Posting something nasty about another girl can't end well for whoever did the posting, whether it was a provider or a client who did the posting.

I provide the best service I can, as I'm sure you do, and I'm proud of any review that I receive as long as it's written honestly. However, I recently had a client who tried to take advantage of me, and when I gently stood up for myself, he took to posting nasty, totally fictitious reviews as an attempt to tear me down. I was really freaked out at first; it made me realize that providers are at a huge disadvantage, with no way to effectively publicly respond to an attack, and our very livelihoods are at stake. Luckily, potential clients saw right through the ruse - a few of my regulars even pointed it out to me laughingly - and it ultimately had no negative effect on my business. I think it was smart of you to post about this, and I'm confident it will end well for you!

I know we've never met, but if you need anything, even just an ear, please don't hesitate to contact me!
