Ever since my posting about introductory rates I have had men email me about booking but they do not want to be verified. I thought getting verified was common practice. When I get to the point with them about having to verify them I get nasty letters back saying I should be nicer. Am I breaking a cardinal rule of etiquette? BTW my 2 week introductory rate offer ends Friday. Does anyone have any ideas where is the most popular place to stay in the Metrowest area. Also do men like toys? I have an affinity for toys.

Are they newbies or seasoned hobbyist?
If they are newbies, sounds like they haven't done their homework. If it's seasoned hobbyist, they know the drill!
Your not breaking any rules,it's for your safety.
If they don't want to play along,,,tell them to move on!

I am not sure about most of them. Some say they have tons of references but I still want to know who I am seeing. If I get hurt I have no recourse.

I looked at your site and most of the reference information you seek seems to be in line with what other providers request.  I think guys are a little more nervous these days about providing work information (company, title, phone number).  Probably only 1 in 20 providers ask about race, but I don't know why a guy would have a problem with that.  It's not like you won't figure it out once you see us.

Was there anything in particular that the guys were objecting to?  This may sound a little strange, but I'd be more inclined to give some work information if the lady didn't ask for my title.

You are not breaking any rules nor are you asking for anything out of the ordinary on your screening form.  Unfortunately there is no getting around the fact that some guys just don't want to be verified. That is their problem, not yours. Stand your ground and simply ignore the guys who give you a hard time. Verification is for your safety as well as theirs.

If they don't understand that they can always look for a date on Craig's List...

Amanda,

Don't second guess yourself or your practice; verification is necessary.

However, this is a business of calculated risk.

If you are unwavering or unwilling to compromise your standard you will have to be content with the fact that this may result in fewer appointments.

I have provider girlfriends who screen the dickens out of their guests requiring everything short of a social security number and I have girlfriends who answer the phone and guesstimate who/what they're dealing with.  Many older providers say that they have developed a keen sense of intuition which has kept them out of trouble for years on end.

I think it is appropriate for most mid-range providers to land somewhere squarely in the middle.

I identify with your thought process; the only instance of a bad appointment I've ever had in 3 years was with someone who had 2 excellent references which made me preoccupied with "identity". In the months that followed I was dismayed to find that those who would harm/compromise the escort have figured out how to imitate identities and simply checking ID upon entry isn't sufficient - once they're in your space all bets are off.

Are you comfortable accepting a person who is admittedly "brand new" with 0 references but instead recites work information or allows you to call them at "their place of employment" which is according to them, an unlisted office line?

Versus

Accepting a person who has been hobbying for 5+ years and has an online hobby history in the form of reviews, White Listings or Date-Check referrals or established, public providers who are willing to vouch for them and assure you that the client is the consummate gentleman?

You have to evaluate every possible scenario and find responses that are reasonable for YOU.

These are my thoughts and they are not representative of any other provider, but I suggest that you do as I recently had to do and internalize the fact that each client has different needs.  Hoping and wishing for all of the best clients who come neatly packaged with an identity that they are willing to share and 10 references isn't probable, particularly when so many have slowed down and are establishing beneficial relationships with a handful of ATFs.

Don't compromise your safety but do realize that sense and discretion rule.  If you would like to stay occupied you will have to modify your business model and offer a degree of flexibility colored by empathy with those who contact you.

Xo

Maybe some guys are a little reluctant to give you too much information for a reason.
You only have 2 reviews in 2008, and before that it was 2005, and only a few.
Personally, I would not give you my personal information either.
I think that once your are reestablished, more guys will be comfortable with you. This is a two way street.
Sorry that my response is not the typical WK response, but it is honest.
Good luck ;)

I do have a few reviews because I started in 2005 to get my feet wet. I got a great job and went on a hiatus. The economy went south and I realized that sensual and erotic side is still going strong. I wanted to work with that and have some fun while I wait for the economy to recuperate. I am far from an unknown commodity. Grace and I share mutual clients. She is established and would never lie to you guys if she thought I were not a reputable classy provider. I agree that I need more reviews but that is up to you men who give review to sample my talents. Are there any phantom gourmets among us?

Amanda, do whatever you feel comfortable with.  Every provider and hobbyist must decide for themselves how much screening is enough.  The number of reviews a lady has is irrelevant in my book. Both of my steady ladies are UTR and have zero reviews on TER. Neither compromises on screening and both are as busy as they want to be.

I think you will find that if you provide quality service on a consistent basis, over time, the reviews and the clients will come to you. It will not happen overnight.

I think it can be a pain but certainly understand the necessity. Unless it is someone who really strikes my fancy I stick with the better agencies: Bella Donna, Room Service, and Boston International. They seem to always have someone to satisfy the ich.
