Are the clients that see providers that have rates higher than 350 an hour  
better clients?  My rule is 350 an hour or less and I am a good client.

You do get a different type of client. Just as you get a different type of client by charging $80 rates. You're a smart dude. You know how a business works.

IMO, I wouldn't let $50-$100 keep me from seeing someone I wanted.  

Your tax bracket often dictates what you pay for coochie. Just my opinion based on my knowledge of the subject.

It's all about the value you place in your interests and whether you prefer quality or quantity.  

I prefer clientele who hobby little - seldom, who research and have chosen me specifically because they believe there will be a connection, not because I'm in a convenient location or because I'm running a daily special. Now that I'm older I want a man who is as enamored with me as I am him. Even if it's only for a few hours. Nothing can top that feeling of a hot, romantic tryst...

Well said!  Although I would add that beyond a certain point, you wind up excluding first-time clients who might otherwise become established regulars.  I know one lady who offered only full-hour appointments at 300, a lady whose reviews suggested she was in the top 10% of courtesans.  But for potential clients successful enough to be in an upper tax bracket, they may be experienced enough to know that one person's cup of tea may not be another person's, even if the reviews are almost all stellar.  For me personally, I would rather see a lady for the first time for a shorter time at a half-hour rate that's higher than many half-hour rates; than see a lady at a higher full-hour rate knowing that due to the vagaries of taste and idiosyncratic fit, she and I may just not click perfectly.  Yes, an 80 rate is going to draw a certain type of client, but for a half-hour a 150 rate will draw mostly the same upper income client that a 300 hourly rate would.  In my opinion.

I personally don't offer half hour rates unless it's to an established client, otherwise I'll be in a room turning over 8-10   $150 appointments all day to make the same amount of money while increasing traffic and being like a machine with a hole to fill.

Sounds like a good plan but just like a fine dining restaurant, you can't go in and expect them to give you a half of Steak to see if you like it before you commit to buying an actual meal. That's why I believe it's important to get a feel for the girl's personality via her website, spend ten minutes on the phone with her, then go see her at her normal rate of you feel there will be chemistry.in an ideal situation, if you show you value her, she'll show you she values you. Or as I like to call it, the "I spoil you, you spoil me" rule.  

True, everyone is ymmv situation, provider AND hobbyist, and you can't base what you'll experience strictly on her reviews.  

I never see anyone without having a phone conversation first. I want a good experience just as much as you do.  

I know a lot of guys have the same idea wanting a sample first. Unfortunately it takes us just as much time and effort to prepare for a one hour appointment as it does a thirty minute appointment and we're still often spending 300 bucks on that room. I put as much effort into both. I want to feel like I'm being properly compensated for my time and expertise, versus feeling like I'm auditioning to see if I'm good enough for you and worrying that there's too much traffic coming and going from my room.

Also, you may be a very difficult appointment. Some of us don't want to chance that on a half hour special. It's easier to swallow, so to speak, if we're being properly compensated.

I completely agree =) my goal is to find gentlemen interested in 90+ minute appointments for that exact reason. Seems to be working okay lol I want someone looking for a fun experience versus someone who wants to sample every girl out there "quickie" style.

I'm relatively new to this and really seem to have evolving rules. I'm not made of money, but prefer to wait and have a little extra for longer appointments than spend a little for a quick one. I also admit that the lower the rate, the more hesitant I am. I wouldn't say I have a hard and fast threshold, but absolutely forget anything less than 200 an hour. I don't want someone who is heavy volume and i think lower rates lend themselves to that theory (obviously not on every case, but...) But I would couple that with a lot of research, which I tend to do anyway. I'm a little picky.  

After my first two times I also decided that I would spend the money for a longer meeting purely to have time to meet for drinks first. YMMV, but I do this "hobbying" (hate that term) for my own reasons and that's not just to get laid. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But the whole concept of engaging someone in conversation first is a great thing for me.

Haha...very true - fluidity.  I just hate to state in absolutes for most things anymore. I was like that for the longest (since I was young) and that rigidity was not healthy for me.
