What is the happening thing to do here for Halloween while I am around? Halloween is my MOST FAVORITE holiday so I want to make it a good one while in Boston! Should I go to Salem or are there some good clubs to hit up and visit? Thanks any suggestions are appreciated!
Kisses,
Sonia

hmmmmmmm just an FYI...Salem, albeit a cool place at this time of year....is chock full of college age partiers...I do not mean just a few lol...I mean wall to wall...they are bringing in LE from surrounding towns just to maintain order...still, it could be fun with the right company :-)

Specially today, as Crimsonlass said, Thursdays are the College Kids night!!

I would love to put up my costume today and head to Salem, but I am afraid to be the only one wearing a Halloween outfit tonight... what do you think???

Hey, Sonia I'm from AZ, too by the way. I don't know if you're looking for THE Boston thing to do on Halloween but I don't think you need to go to Salem. I would think Harvard Square would be pretty amusing and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants. You might check out the websites for the various local newspapers, especially the Globe, Boston Phoenix, Improper Bostonian, Stuff at Night, The Weekly Dig. I'm not a Club person so I don't know that whole scene. Actually, I just thought of two places that might be really fun: Jacques Cabaret, a drag club near the Boston Park Plaza (jacquescabaret dot com), or if you are looking something REALLY out there Manray Nightclup "home of the boston underground" (manrayclub dot com). Ah, all the places I never go to. Actually, I'd really love to go to Jacques sometime. I hope you have a great time on this favorite hoiday of yours!

I resemble that remark.  I spent college years in Salem (before Halloween became Mardi Gras there).

Salem is not Lynn, Lawrence or Brockton.  The biggest danger concern is the crowds.

If you go up there from Boston, DO NOT DRIVE!
Getting in /out of Salem sucks on a good day.
Halloween is much worse.

Take the T commuter rail and Salem Station is right off downtown (you won't be alone coming or going on the platform).

Have fun wherever you go!

If you say something like that I think you should be a little more specific. Dangerous in an urban sort of way? Because of LE? The Ku Klux Klan? Before anyone says anything, no, I've never heard anything about the KKK in Salem.

Well I bet your college days were great.

But I currently drive through Salem every day to get to work.

Sure Salem isn't Lawrence or Brockton, but it has become a lot more like Lynn in the past few years.  Crime rate has skyrocketed!!

Salem had over 250 police patroling last weekend.  It was never like that before.  I can remember walking down streets in Salem without a problem.  Now this is no way in hell I would ever walk anywhere from Salem State down to Pickering Wharf after the sun sets.  Forget the Willows completely.
