SALEM, Mass. - Kevin Provencher, 52, of Manchester, N.H., pleaded guilty today in Salem Superior Court to two counts of deriving support from a prostitute, two counts of procuring a person into prostitution, two counts of solicitation for prostitution, and one count of intimidation of a witness.

Pushing something under the rug doesnt make it go away.  Though I never believe in posting peoples private info on TER.  The fact is things happen in this community that need us to be more cautious.  This was definitely one of those things.  No one likes it when bad things happen we cannot forget them so maybe they wont happen again.  Last time I checked Boston was still located in America where we do have freedom of speech.  So if Merick choses to talk about this he has that right though maybe he should go take out peoples names as that is a terms of service violation.

What someone chooses to do in private is his or her own business !!!
This stuff has been going on for, what hundreds, thousands of year's !
Society is really whacked !!! people hide and scorn homosexuality, yet millions do it .. including those who scorn it !  People scorn those who go outside there marriage .. yet millions do it! People scorn pornography, yet millions watch it! People scorn, this !!! .. yet .. millions do this !  Including the very politicians who write the laws against it !   What city is probably one of the biggest markets in the US for this ?
Washington DC. ..  yet the population their is disproportionate to the amount of business done ..  That amount of business isn't coming from the local population!

Society scorns, the Providers .. While, Instead .. You, who share yourselves with others should be admired .. held in the highest regard !!! I honestly can't think of a more amazing and wonderful thing, that a person can do for another!

What is the hang up, with anything that involves anything sexual !  Humans are sexual !
Some how we need to start to get people together and start to try and change these things ..

1) This in not old news. The conviction was Friday 3/18/2011. The arrest was 7/29/2009.

2) I don't believe the spirit of the policy that you are referring to was intended to protect the identity of people that are currently FRONT PAGE news in local TV. The guy was one of the lead stories on Friday and Saturday TV- WMUR Manchester. The policy is intended to protect the identity of TER members and providers. This man’s identity is clearly stated in the news coverage that I directly quoted from the Eagle Trib.
In July 2009 The story was NATIONALLY COVERED because he was, at the time, respected member of society and a sports writer little, conservative newspaper up in New Hampshire....maybe you have heard of it, The Manchester Union Leader?

3) The subject matter is relevant to these boards because it is a prime example of what NOT to do. Each and everyone here should take a look at what this guy did and learn from the mistakes he made. Not just life mistakes. I am talking about sloppy management mistakes and the consequences.

In this case the sentencing for charges is concurrent. I believe that means he ends up with 2.5 yr total in the clink.
He got 2.5 yrs for "Intimidation of a witness."
2 yr procuring a person to practice P.
1 yr Solicitng for P
and 1 yr probation for deriving income from P
$5000 fine plus the state keeps his PC (with all that data and a couple of videos).

He wasn't busted for being a John and he was't busted for being a prostitute.
To me it looks like he is really doing time for intimidation of a witness.

"Posting personal information of members or provider, including content copied from their emails and Private Messages, is grounds for BANISHMENT."

A) he isn't a member - at least not anymore and I did not link his profile or username.
B) This is news that is currently in the PUBLIC domain.
C) I am well within the spirit of the rule.
D) Was there a consensus decision to sweep this under the carpet? I didn't read that post.

Thank you for your post -- I was wondering whatever became of the case and if the State (and/or the Commenwealth) was trying to ignore it with the hopes it would just go away on it's own.
