Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays and even though I very rarely if ever eat anything other than fish and veggies I am looking forward to the smells that fill the house. For me the best part is having family and friends together and sharing a well prepared meal with them. I love getting up early and toasting bread to make home made stuffing and there really is nothing better than stealing that first piece of crispy turkey skin before anyone else gets to it!
Then once you are full you can watch football and snooze until you are ready for the never ending left overs!

even though I'm on a strict diet this Thanksgiving....I can't wait for that homemade dressing, broccoli salad, and all the different sides my family makes with veggies....

To me Thanksgiving is very important because it's very rare our whole family can get together....being filled with doctors, lawyers, and teachers...everyone is always busy. So every holiday is special to me...to give thanks for letting us all come together again....

Ohhhhhh (tear) (tear)..................ok I'm done! lol

Lemon Meringue. Apple. Cherry. Chocolate Cream. Pumpkin. Sweet Potato. There are usually more pies than people - I usually take the Pumpkin for myself, and eat it alone, with no utensils. Tasty AND practice...

Since I am on my own with family far away, I like to think of all the families that I can help have a joyous thanksgiving. I donate a few turkeys. As for myself, Ill mix caviar and Crème fraiche and spread on crackers, and cook a big piece of swordfish with white truffle oil. Drink Yerba Mate tea with mint leaves and watch a movie. Im almost always decorating my house, so I bet Ill find myself doing that in the daytime and then a nice hike in the woods. Of course call my family also and tell them I love them.
