Just wondering

I got a PM from a gentlemen the other day asking about a lady, when I looked into it, I was surprised that he asked since she had great reviews. But then again it got me wondering  

How much do you trust reviews?

I’m asking this because I have had experiences with a couple of  ladies who got great reviews, a lot of 10/10, and I came out wonder how the hell they got a 10 for performance. I have not question about the 10 for appearance, they did earn them.  

One was a lady from Ct and another was a local lady. Before you say “she was having an off day” I saw the local lady a couple of more time and to see if got better. Sadly they didn’t get any better. I think one time it was worst. I gave up at seeing her at that point.  
I doubt I was lucky enough to go see her on all her bad days. I showed up on time showered and didn’t do anything bad, since the local lady would see me again.  

Then you have the ladies that have asked if I was going to review them, if you could not  
give them a 10/10 would you be kind enough not to review them. Now if you do write a review and it’s not a 10/10, you know you are about to have some problems.  
If you remember a lady from years ago Lisa, if she got review number she didn’t like she was on this board whining about it. All the white knights came out to defend her and trashed the poor guy who wrote the review.  

 
Reviews are the gentlemen’s way to share his experience with a lady good or bad.
So I have to wonder if gentlemen write good reviews to stay in good standing with the ladies. Which makes the review useless, if we can’t write an honest review without the fear of being blacklisted or shamed on the board, what good are they?  

Yes there are some cases were the gentleman may write a review to spite a lady, but I wonder how may are written to stay in a ladies good graces. I have the feeling there are more of them.  

Your thoughts.  

P.S. I will not name the ladies I have seen since it will only get the white knight out and a lots of hate posts. Let leave it as reviews in general

With a grain of salt...

Since I began hobbying several years ago, I've found that I read reviews more and more in a black-and-white manner.  Detailed physical description, activities participated in, order of events.  I treat the descriptive adjectives and such as perspective/bias. For me, actual service provided are the only things that I really pay serious attention to.  GFE qualifications, etc.

I won't actually list providers names, but over the last year, I saw three that averaged: 9.2/9.4, 8.5/9, and 9.5/10 (the later only had 1 review).  I wouldn't have gone over 7 performance-wise with any of them.  Perhaps it was just poor chemistry, which is really individual.  One of them was highly sought out and I was a little surprised at how poor the experience was.  In turn, I've seen someone that I really connect with in recent months and have been seeing only her once weekly: I rated her highly but others have lower ratings of her.  She was/is perfect for ME but perhaps not for another hobbyist.

For some time, I was thinking that TER should consider some type of personality profile in addition to physical attributes.  I know the stereotype for men is just primal instincts for physical appearance and sexual performance, but I think that there are others outside of me that enjoy the emotional/personality connection of an experience and it would be neat to have some charting for that.  (I know that that is what the summary portion of a review may be for but, let's be honest, that's usually a heated blow-by-blow).

It's all about chemistry

a very unappealing guy will not get a better service then a much more appealing man

better hygiene, better personality and perhaps better looks all factor  

So common sense would explain this question

It is about chemistry as the foundation of any experience, but it is also true that the question of high ratings based on history of the provider plays a role as does the issue of intimidation.  I saw a very highly rated provider in Las Vegas sometime ago and was disappointed in three ways, looks, performance and worst of all attitude.  Her looks were "hard" and body way too man made.  She acted her way through the session and thought very highly of herself then and more importantly after I gave her less than 10s for my review.  The email basically said if you could not give me 10s why did you give me anything.  To me that was a great summation of the session.  I would not want to see her again nor any provider with her attitude.

On the other hand I have seen a number of providers that were just so much fun that I felt a 10 was in order, but the "TER guidelines" would not allow it.

Just my view on a tricky subject.

Great question and why I don't do many ...

some ways I'm a man of few words. I show about 10 reviews, I've definitely done more than that, and have no idea where they end up or I submit them and they never appear.  
You pose a difficult question in that from my point I've had mostly good, very good or outstanding experiences. My most amazing experiences, I've actually not done a review for the woman. There's something about the blow by blow that bugs me a little bit. I've never been a kiss and tell in real life so I guess that spills over a into the hobby. Its also about the respect I have for the women I've met.  

Few know me except for the ladies and I prefer it that way and in a way I'm a bit torn by not posting reviews. But that's just my style.  

It's also why I don't subscribe to TER because I'm not interested in the blow by blow, I actually prefer the prelude to the juicy details, where I feel much more is said in fewer words. I'm a very good writer and can make any session sound as good or better than it was but I just don't like pat myself on the back that much, because I think much of what I read is as much about the men as it is the woman and I feel that's the way I write sometime. That's why I like to read the general info. I'm looking for the mood, not the news. It works for me, really really well.  

Lisa of Boston way back was one of them. An hour bargain rate after several cancellations with me leaving 5 1/2 hours later, literally floating out of her hotel. How do you write about that? Everyone would want that deal. Call me lucky, a once in a lifetime experience so good that I didn't go back to see her again. How could she top that. I preferred to leave that one "private".  

So for me, I balance it all by not reading the juicy details even tho I can read for free by doing reviews. My only whitelist and occasional fuckbudy was not reviewed. Didn't think Ally needed one.  

But I do and will write a review if someone hints or asks for one and try to be as honest with myself and about the session as possible. Every fuck and blow job isn't the best ever, but they ALL feel so fucking good. But stay tuned girls and boys, I have a feeling I'm gonna feel like writing soon. Real soon!

I guess I got my fill from Penthouse in the 70s.

I usually read most if not all of the reviews before I see a particular provider, and then make my own judgement afterwards.  The reviews are usually pretty entertaining.

I will say this though.  If you read the review policy, it even states that reviews are the property of TER and they are to be considered fictional accounts of what happened. (Maybe I phrased that wrong.  I don't want to offend anybody, neither hobbyist nor provider)

I trust reviews when...

I try to be honest and consistent with my reviews.  I've done a lot of reviews and I'm generally not worried about what other people think of my reviews, but I did get blacklisted from an agency once because they didn't like my review of one of their providers.  After being reinstated, I no longer TOFTT with that agency.  Here's my advice on how to consider reviews:

1) Strength in numbers - the more reviews there are, the more you can trust the average (stats 101)

2) If there are only 1 or 2 reviews, you know that they're a real provider but you have to assess the credibility of the reviewer.  If they only have one or two reviews themselves, I don't trust them

3) Next I look at the "range" of the reviewer.  Some guys give lots of 9s and 10s and get lots of whitelists.  Some guys consistently give negative reviews.  I try to adjust in those cases.

4) Lastly, there's a question of taste.  When I'm considering another person's review, I try to look for someone we've both seen and how they rated them compared to me.  

5) As for chemistry, I occasionally hit it off with a girl who others find cold, and I once in a while don't click with a favorite.  If this happens, I try to provide detail and if I didn't click but feel like it wasn't her fault I try to be objective.

I don't put much stock in the numbers

The numbers are always inflated. Instead I read the reviews. I look at the profile. If I like what I see I go back and read all the reviews for the past year. Then if I like what I read I make contact with the provider to get verified. On a few occasions after contacting the provider I've changed mind about making an appointment. If I don't feel comfortable with them I just move on. This system seems to work for me.

Agreed.

I agree with you 100% and my experience has been pretty much the same.  I've even been banned from one agency since my bad review of one of their girls.

Most of my reviews are high scoring, but I am not easily entertained.    The performance numbers are earned, believe me.

Appearance is subjective.  I will score a "skinny" girl 2 points higher than most guys, and big fake tits 2 points lower than most guys.  Then again, I wont even see the girl with big fake tits...unless she has exceptional oral skills.  The most important thing is: pictures are accurate, yes or no

Oh, most definitely.  Several of the worldwide 10s I've peeked at (never actually seen) have implants and bodies that are almost fake.  Performances are often porn-grade PSEs too.  Not my cup of tea, but I imagine that someone who watches lots of porn and fantasizes about it then has the opportunity to experience it first hand (who knows, maybe with the pornstar in question), that would merit a 10 from them.

Reviews are one way to find out about providers and profile are the other option

If you want explicit profiles that describe adult activities look on adult work site (email me and I will give you the complete site address). Also preferred 411 has provider profiles that describe what adult activities they will perform.
Now to eliminate the possibility of whining, complaining about clients is an impossible thing because adult providers are human beings and human beings will always complain and whine about things that bothers them because is human to do so.
 You guys also whine and complain about adult workers who have no patience to describe the adult session on the phone.  
So nobody is perfect!
