Hopefully it can be resolved, it’s going to make it harder to see if a provider is a good fit to reach out to. I’m wondering if reviews are on the way out?

Not sure what that's about though.

It makes sense- ads will be too much of a liability for most boards... it also can be seen as a biz move- it will force (for some not as savvy with research or SWitter to buy VIP) TER doesn't make $ off free ladies' ads- they make $ off the VIP memberships...and now that US escort advertising is highly target by the gov't with the new law to be implemented at some point- many are closing...

My suggestion:   1. Twitter  2. Expect advertising to be back like it was in the 90's -more discreet, somewhat closed (you have to admits it was a free-for all of sex acts listed since 2004-2005 review requirements. 3. Treat your regular companions well again- cause it's gonna be a bit harder to find someone capable (perhaps this will yield better behavior for both sides) 4. If there is someone of interest- reach out to get pre-screened...that includes those of us who travel to Metrowest and Boston and used TER as a shout out to our friends when we did) -so that we can keep you privately informed...

As one of the 1st here on TER boards and in Boston with a website way back when- it was getting a bit too indiscreet, commercialized , "out there"  and a tilt happened..unfortunately- in full public view with legislation... :(

I'd love to keep my Mass friends informed..but it will have to be through you reaching out to connect asap (newsletters/private emails etc..)....as things get quieter with US advertising.

Mel xoxo

TER will always be home for reviews.  Ads will move somewhere else.  In about a month we should know and hobbyland will make the migration.  Plenty of opportunity for online entrepeneurs to set something up.

P411 will benefit, and all of us will benefit from the growth of P411.  That's my $0.02 and shill of the day...which reminds me, it's Friday  :-)

Several have been developed to see who is available in your area.
Seems to be the new way to go, and "on-line' is/will be a thing of the past- (like the Yellow Pages.)

OK, I'm somewhat facetious but there is a Boston England (granted, it's got 6 people in it).  Could ads be posted there?
Or for our sister city Halifax? ("Halfiax-Sister near Back Bay" might be a hint to inquiring minds.)
Clearly more discretion, code-talking and detective work will be required.

Twjtter has problems.. a lot if the ladies don't clearly say where they are... I'm sure New Zealand is beautiful.. but that won't happen. I'm not going to follow a lady... all of my real life contacts will see that...
So Twitter is ok... but it's far from a solution

Twitter works! I have many provider friends who use twitter to find clients. I know many are using words like model, life coach, physical therapist, counselor, etc as a code work but idk how effective that’ll be.

Do some sleuthing, look for names you know - women & men. See who they follow.
It's not as easy as looking for ads and it's going to get harder as people lock down their accounts and delete stuff.
Speaking of which, I gotta go back to posting cat videos ...

Indeed. There's basically an escort network on Twitter - the ladies tend to follow each other.

So they took us ladies advertising page down, even though this bill hasn't been signed into law yet however a gentleman can post in any discussion boards looking for a specific kind of lady or see who is available for services?

A contacts B for services or B contacts A for services=SAME thing but the discussion page is still up?(SMH) Again I am still pretty puzzled about this nonsense but lucky there is Social Media platforms  like Twitter and P-4-1-1 thank god for Gina!

Stay safe out there and remember stay positive #sexworkersunite!

There is quite a bit of irony in that the president that will likely sign this bill into law, is the first president to assuredly used providers. SAD.

Well my dear,

The  SEOST act is going to be law soon, so taking down the ad page today or next week what is the big different??
The Ad page is coming down not matter what, they are just getting ahead of the law.

Yes I can post on the board, I want to see a smoking hot redhead with big boobs, a tight ass and legs that go for miles.
Now for intent, I can ask for that but the question is will I go thru with?? That's the question.  Wanting to do something and actually doing it are 2 different things and in the laws eye's it's not illegal.

As for you point about "A" contacting "B", if they do this outside of the realm of TER.
TER is not liable for thing, only the website or maybe the email service might be.

As for Twitter and other social media website's may not be the best idea. No website wants to be associated with human trafficking. If even a hint of wrong doing These social media sites are going to scan there members and if there is a hint of wrong doing, they are going to shut the account down, or face lawsuits in the justice system and in the court of public opinion.

Now what I would also be worried about the servers that host your website, like Slixa, how soon before they shut things down.  What about email servers, like Gmail, Yahoo, and Aol. What are they going to do when this becomes law?

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I put in Provider... Hmmm.. Maybe.. something called Provider resilience came up.. no ! again.. That app was for people that provides strength  for those who care..
Damn.. I'm dyin to know...

Having two different Social Media accounts will not isolate the Real You from the Hobby You.  Prepare for the worst. Search the General Board and Newbie Board for the expression "Avoid Social Media Like The Plague That It Is" for lots of threads on the problem.

I did read a provider today tbat says she will not respond to emails if they are not from an encrypted site... what's the point in that?  The end if ads is simply an inconvenience..

Using an encrypted email like pronto mail is smart imo.

If one is in the hobby, an internet user period, at the very least using a vpn is a proper protocol.

You can sign up for a free trial and use a visa gift card to pay. Use a proxy peeps! 😘

As soon as Trump signs off on this gmail was created in America anything that is out of USA can and will be used against both parties. Opening a new email such as proton mail which takes 5 minutes and is encrypted nobody can see that! As you can see clearly this is a big deal as sites are dropping like flies so if you are in the hobby take precautions or you will be in the newspaper with silver bracelets. Gmails have to go. If you don't have the time or energy to do this proceed with caution or maybe try a strip club.

Signed up for ProtonMail last night. Took a few minutes to make it my main hobbying email - it's now on my TER, hobbying Twitter account, P411, and the couple of agencies I'm verified with. My old Hotmail served me well, but I know full well that Microsoft will sell me down the river in an instant if and when the time comes.

Hey Melinda! Yep, it's been a while.

As a fellow first, I do have a few things to say as well... I don't believe things will return to the way they were in the 90's. Back then, the internet was *uncharted territory*, not regulated and restricted territory. We were discreet because we felt that we wanted to be, not so much because someone was watching  and waiting with repercussions if we weren't. It brings a different atmosphere to the arena. Back then we weren't known about, now we're outright targeted, as you said.

Yes, it was getting out of hand in many aspects. On one hand, you have ladies who will outright tell anyone what they will do for the money, and under no premise of trying to foster the personal connection or relationship (board trolls don't roll your eyes, this is the way it *was* 15 years ago) that used to be considered the "GFE". On the other hand, we have dudes so dumb that they can barely spell their own names up and texting chicks at 3am asking "u avail" and sounding off when they don't get their BJ delivered in 30 minutes or less. I'll callously say that back then people like that weren't able to find computers, and so weren't in our arena at all. I can't say I won't be relieved when they're gone.

Sure, I'm annoyed about the inconvenience of having to reorganize a little bit (I was also one of the first on Twitter) but I'm more concerned about the dangerous precedent that this is setting for free speech on the internet overall. And of course, it comes right after the powers that be have beaten down every other media outlet available to the public. In this case, I believe sex workers are just the testing ground, as they have been in the past, for their new legal framework of trying to control communication overall.
