...and furthermore, my workplace does not use a directory, all numbers are direct-dialed, which (I'm taking a guess here) won't work for the verification processes (P411, Date-Check, etc.)

It seems difficult to get an appointment with providers being a relative newbie as I am without references, etc.  Could anyone suggest providers more inclined to accept a newer client?

You might consider joing one of the verification sites like Date-Check or Preferred411. A lot of the ladies who have memberships are a little more newbie friendly. I belong to both, and they work great. Maybe some of the ladies could chime in, and give their opinions on which they like better.

I use Preferred 411 and date-check.com  They are very reliable as far as screening goes.  

Also, once you see someone, have then white list you here on TER.

I AGREE 100% hungry1951, and roomservice2000 is a third, but its more other parts of the country. safety first, esp in boston my friend!

My work place will not support the P411 et al service checks, either.  Perhaps a provider or two that is willing to work out other arrangements could respond....
