is it inconvenient for hobbying from  a mans point of view?

No good hotels, no good parking, ugly town...

I think it depends on where you live, but personally I think it is a great location.  I live on that side of town.  There are some very nice hotels and it beats driving into Boston any day.  For others, it may not be quite so convenient.

For a long session, Harvard Sq is a neat place to tour around.

Kendall Square has a nice hotel and there are some nice places along Memorial Drive too.

Cambridge is far more convenient for me than Boston.  While parking is not necessary easy most of the nicer hotels have a garage attached at least.  And the views out the windows while recovering are Fabulous!  *evil grin*

It is literally seconds from Boston so people in Boston will not mind traveling there at all
