Recently I have been dealing with a person who is a client, not mine.
He has seen my images and the other shots I post so he knows they are mine.
He started stalking my photography business posting on my fb page  
emailing me asking me if Im Nicole
Te worst of it all was at the start he WAS at an event I shot and as loudly and as obnoxiously as he could he kept calling out *Nicole* saying I know youre Nicole I have seen your pictures. OMG
I just pretended he wasnt talking to me. I still really dont know who he is  
Basically this in my opinion is unsettling.
I know i post my images and its no secret I am a photographer  
but that doesnt entitle someone to go out of their way to try and creep me out.
I am working really hard to build my business and to have this asshole try and trash my reputation with accusations,  
I was so upset and was on a job so I couldnt even walk away from him.  

as providers we keep your secrets, we give you privacy and we expect the same in return
please be respectful, give us our space.
And by all means do NOT approach a provider in public and do NOT yell out her stage name.

Perhaps he'd like it if you started using twitter and announced to the general public his mongering habit. Not!

Fight for what you believe in, tell the fine gentleman to FO.

He may be a mentally unstable jackass. I know from one very unpleasant experience with a gent that actually had the nuts to review me; bad shit can happen. That memory still freaks me out! Best to avoid as much as possible. Block him on your Facebook account. If he is calling you, burn your number and create a new one. Just keep it private for a while and only give it to legitimate people. That's scary...sorry you are dealing with this bullshit.

He knows he was dead ass wrong and i'm pretty sure he not only loved what he did but felt proud of himself.

I really think  the word "unsettling" doesn't  begin to describe how awful it must be to have someone doing this. Most of us would never do anything that could compromise the privacy of anyone that we've seen. Hopefully he will give up soon.

Nobody should get bullied but why would you proclaim
your love of photography and not expect some back lash. You can't stop anyone from attacking  or bulling you but you can limit your exposure by not telling the world your business

That given her talent and love of Photography .. which has always been well known own... that she probably works under her real name.. in the real World.. that's pretty much her point.. the idiot should not have been running around in the real World calling her by her name here.... why would he do that except that he's an idiot.

I agree nobody should announce or identify in public on both sides. But you want people to know who you are, congrats you succeeded.

BUT HIS behavior HAS NOTHING to do with my choices. AND i put MY image out there so its not hard to know who I am if you come across me.
I have been recognized as a photographer because I shoot street photography as well in Boston Im a redhead and i have a unique look  
so its not on me if someone misbehaves I get it some ppl are crazy but dont try to scold me into feeling bad about my choices. I am Not going to change!!!!!

Photography and Art is NOT a choice for me... Its WHO I am...thats not a choice.

What was the purpose of your post? Do you really think it will help your situation?

Do you think now that you have scolded all hobbyists, 99.99% of whom would never harass you as this guy has, that all of a sudden he'll stop?  NOT likely NOW. YOU just let him know that he succeeded in unsettling you.  Obviously that's what he was going for. He'd probably be MORE LIKELY NOW!  

Then you STUBBORNLY say you are not going to CHANGE anything. Doing the SAME thing over and OVER and expecting a DIFFERENT result is INSANITY!  JACKASSES are stubborn too!  

YOUR worlds are COLLIDING, you need to change something up.

If you keep doing what you've been doing, you'll keep getting what you've been getting. Just saying!

What not to do to avoid getting raped. Giving girls advice on what not to do ( wear sexy clothes etc..)
Instead of teaching young boys not to rape. Of course rape is not the same as stalking, but the point is putting the burden on the victim.

Just because someone is a SW doesn't mean she isn't entitled to a private life on the side.
Because she advertises her photos doesn't give some nut job the right to stalk and harass her!

If this happened to your daughter or someone you loved, you wouldn't reply this way, so what you are REALLY saying is ..

Because she is a SW she has to hide, change her life and get over it!

No, Nicole has every right to vent here. I did not take it as she was scolding others, only venting.

Nicole, some people have to be dealt with the old fashioned way, this is the case here.

y post wasnt negative, it was realistic.
   

 There are plenty of women in this biz who are easily run across because we know what they do other than this.
and I have read on more than one occasion Hobbyists mentioning what they do other than this....
yes my worlds are to some degree colliding, and some of that just cant be helped. In both professions I am my product

as a photographer I sell myself, my talent my ability the product is me, as well as here.
I have sold quite a few images to clients here, under my real name... and  they know who I am, so yes the worlds are colliding
I can change my name but its still me.
Im ok with the two worlds most ppl in them are cool and they usually flow easily in and out of one another.
I say I wont change because I cant. I am in a very big process of transition and branding.  I am so thrilled and very happy shooting love love love my job. This is the most amazing world and time for me.  

I dont apologize because I am just doing my thing ....Yes it puts me in a position that can be difficult When theres an asshole involved.  

Hobbyists in good faith use their names get verified and mostly its ok
sometimes rarely theres trouble, that doesnt make it ok though

and there are alot of hobbyists who dont shop here I am on alot of sites.

small and insecure men, the ones who hold resentment towards woman because of their own inadequacies with the opposite sex, find pleasure in trying to feel in control when they are not, in trying to feel superior when they know how insignificant they are. Ignore him. If you react it validates his internal wish to feel superior and only reinforces that attitude. You can find solace in the fact that he goes to bed at night knowing what a small piece of shit he is and how he can't get any attention from woman.
