In reference to the post below and your angry exchange with the esteemed gentleman from Hawaii as well as others, I think there is a concensus on this board among many members that your contributions are excessive, pedantic and replete with faux omniscience.  

Certainly everyone is entitled to express an opinion or post suggestions, but when certain members do that often enough, it can be construed as galling to the rest.  On their surface, these boards are open and free forums which allow exchanges between members who contribute something meaningful.  However, overexposure can dilute even the most meaningful discussions and can degrade the integrity and diversity of the board as a whole.  Consequently, some members then react to your excessive postings with vitriol.

I once went out to a karaoke bar with some friends and, after several cocktails, absolutely butchered "Hey Jude".  About 3/4 of the way through the song, a bar employee intervened and told me that I should stop because I was embarassing myself.  I'm glad he did, because at the time I thought I was really entertaining and people loved me.  So BG57, I guess what I'm saying is, you are kind of at the "Na na na na na na na" portion of "Hey Jude", and it's time to take a break.

The only anger in any exchanges yesterday was coming from Mauiman1, not me.
I invite you to do what anyone else here is welcome to do, ignore my posts.  It's really very easy to do.  Weather you or anyone finds me "entertaining" or not is not my concern. I'm not here to amuse you or anyone else. I'm also not here to agree with you, or anyone else.  I'm here, as a hobbyist, to share my experiences and opinions. Those opinions are what they are and I have as much right to post them here as any other member of the board.

Frankly, the fact that you are so obsessed with another poster on an internet message board that you feel the need to try and call him out is a bit comical.  I would think you have better things to do and hopefully more to contribute here than simply trying to get me to go away.

I understand perfectly well that any board is a two way street. I will however respond to my critics as anyone would.

As for non-informational posts. I've been reading quite a lot of those lately by plenty of other posters. If I recall, that's where all the fun started yesterday...

are 95, 236, and 319 as compared to 57, 147, and 259 for the Boston Board. And BostonGuy is only number 1 for the 30 day period.

      The top poster always takes some heat, particularly if she is a lady as was true on the Vegas Board until excessive posting complaints drove her to take a “posting hiatus.”

          While everyone has a right to complain, the converse is also true - I find these kind of complaints to be totally ridiculous. I agree with BostonGuy that your remedy is simply not to click on his posts. As to the lady who somehow finds it annoying even to ignore his posts, don’t you think you are being a little overly sensitive here?


        None of  my business since I rarely read this Board, but I hope BostonGuy is not discouraged from posting whenever he feels like it.

I thought the stats were pretty funny as well.  Don't worry, I don't take any of this seriously enough to be discouraged from speaking my mind whenever I feel inclined to do so..

I don’t really need to read his posts, do I? What he says is irrelevant (unless he is just being mean spirited which know one has charged). The principle I champion, in the context of TER posting, is not only BostonGuy’s right to express himself as often as he desires but that his frequent posting in and of itself is good for the vitality of the Boston Board.

          Check out the San Francisco Board sometimes. That Board died long ago because so few people cared to express opinions. Now all you see are endless advertisements by providers and birthday greetings.

          And guess what? Because no one reads that Board for opinions (because there are so very few) the S.F. Board gets a much smaller read ratio for percentage of the population than does the Vegas Board. So the ladies’ ads are much less effective.

         Far better for a Discussion Board to have someone with an opinion on everything, even if its “no piece of ass is worth that much” as you so colorfully put it (a topic we revisit regularly on the Vegas Board whenever a new gal posts a $600 rate), than having the Board become a desert of advertisements and birthday greetings.

        Do you really disagree with any of this?
