do you go back and forth with emails trying to get  a specific time/date or do you just request a specific time/date and move on if not available?

It tells them we are not time wasters.

If she can't do that date, have a back up date.  It usually doesn't take more than 3-4 emails back and forth.

Usually I suggest a day and time with backup dates in my mind.  Also, I usually have to go with my back up dates so to answer your question, yes I usually go back and forth trying to get a day that works for us both.

thing in my experience. I suppose they could be waiting for confirmation from other appointments.

don't really prefer the back and forth. i'd rather pick a date and time and if she can't make it. oh well, on to the next.

included in the original email, I prefer your first choice of day and timeframe and a back up. I'm able to look at my calendar and see which can be set  and confirmed. Relieves all the back and forth. Sometimes though, it's appreciated when a client resurfaces if we couldn't connect the first time, it lets me know that he really wanted to meet and I make sure we are able to connect this time....and of course make the meeting that much more special. A small effort goes a long way :)

If you suggest a time that would work for you and I will follow up with some other options if that doesn't work for me.

I like to have a basic outline so that I can figure my schedule out!

I've often thought that both sides would be less frustrated with trying to make appointments if provider's calendars were updated instead of ignored for months on end.

Its also helpful when the calender isnt ignored when they ask for a time. Argh I guess we all hate when they are there and not utilized.
