Hey guys, I was watching some poker on TV and back a few years I was WAY into it and got bored...started to google and it turns out that a former World Champion was swept up in a Police Sting in some state not in New England.

I was wondering if there are any small or slightly less than obvious tip offs that a "date" might be a "sting", Have you heard of any sweeps and was there any discernible pattern in the 5-0's approach?  

Clearly use TER and a known Agency to avoid this but I think this sort of info is wanted by all members

Thoughts? Tips?

LE isn't going to screen and risk turning potential suspects away, they want to maximize the number of arrests. I don't see them changing this approach either, they just want you to show up, and will agree to anything to make that happen.

Is English your first language? I could hardly understand what you were trying to say. Other than the obvious punctuation and spelling mistakes let me give you a tip. "There" is a place and "Their" is the possessive you wanted to use as in "...their approach."  

Thanks to the other two posters who chimed in with info. I do think that a sting would be "easy" to get a appointment. The 5-0 would be concerned with numbers of arrests so they'll agree to pretty much everything to get you there in the trap. Yes the article listed above is what made me ask the question. Made me think what did they use as bait to spring the trap.  

If anybody else has tell tale signs please chime in.
