I am still new to this stuff I may have a few questions every once in a while.
Where are the best places in boston to advertise?
I have read some of the prior messages and it seeems that people think negatively of advertising in the Phoenix, I was thinking of posting there so I was curious as why that is bad.
The only place I advertise/post right now is TER, TBD and craigslist and all of those places are free.
I've read some posts where providers say they pay up to $450 a month on advertising, where are those places and what are the individual costs?
Any additional advice on increasing my profile to hobbyist in Boston?

It's always been my opinion, "Why pay for ads on sites like Eros when the same people are reading TER and other free sites?"

Learn to use the free boards and you don't have to pay for advertising. I don't know the posting rules of the other boards but, when it comes to TER, do the following and you will be successful.

1. Post your schedule/ad once a week.

2. Participate regularly on the discussion boards. Don't just post your ad!

3. ALWAYS! I MEAN ALWAYS attach your link to EVERY POST! TER is okay with this. In fact, TER encourages you to do it! (A provider in FL recently told me, “Guys don’t like it when you add your link to every post.” Too bad if they don’t like it…you’re trying to get your phone to ring! If these guys aren’t sharp enough to see the big picture, that’s their problem.)

4. Update your website regularly so people have a reason to keep coming back. (For instance, instead of adding a bunch of pictures at once, add one picture a week.)

5. Keep yourself unmoderated so your posts will go up in real time.

Regarding the Phoenix, stay away! IMHO, in terms of the clientele you’ll attract, you’re better off writing your name and number on the Men’s Room wall!

lol I was wondering the exact same thing, what does that mean alsoHow do we know all the same guys read eros etc... as reaad the boards of TER. Aren't there some people who only go to like eros find what they are looking for and that's it?
I guess in terms of that I'm just wondering which place is more popular across the state of MA, is TER the most popular place?
For instance there is a guy who happens to know me who has never heard of any of these escort or review sites but he saw my ad on craigslist and questioned me about it, so that's how I figured craigslist is a pretty popular place.
I get most responses from my craigslist ad, then TER, then one person saw me on TBD, is there like a more popular place than craigslist?

It means, if you follow the posting rules, you will eventually have unmoderated status. When you're unmoderated, your posts go up in real time. When you're moderated, the moderator of the board has to read and approve your posts first. When I wrote, "Keep yourself unmoderated," I meant, once you've become unmoderated, follow the posting rules and you'll stay unmoderated.

Here is my opinion on this subject.  

The phoenix.... Well, it is hit or miss.  Your phone does ring but you have alot of heavy breathers and creeps calling.  Alot of the guys call to get rates so they can check around and get the lowest rate.  So unless you are planning to do a session for $100 like some providers.  Competition is pretty high.  I have though met some regulars there that are really great guys.  The key is to have a really catchy ad to get great attention.  Other wise you will get alot of call but no business.  The potential to get good business is there.  I tend to run into more creeps and guys trying to haggle my rates there.  Rather than guys from the TER and internet advertisement.

Here are a few great advertisement boards/internet agencies.

1) Eros- My personal favorite!!!  I meet awesome guys there that are serious about meeting and not wasting your time and willing to really compensate you for your time.

2)Exotics-  I haven't advertised with them gut some of my friends say they are great and get alot of business from them.  I haven't heard anything negative about them.

3)City Vibe-  I heard the same about them as about Exotics.

4) Last suggestion is to see what ladies are popular on these boards and ask them if they want to do any banner exchanges.  A great way to advertise for free and make new freinds!!!

lol craigslist is a classified website, it is popular all over the United States, it's classified for all kinds of services though, not just erotic

I was thinking of posting a photo ad there without my phone number (because i don't take reservations over the phone) but with just my website address. Do you think that would cut down on the heavy breathers/prank callers?
I will probably do the banner exchange thing though, I just hate my banner, I have to get some graphic art skills.

Nahh, not at all. I think that both boards do what they say they do What I will suggest is that, since you are into the massages, you might want to post on the massage parlor of the otherboard. If you are not familiar with where the massage parlor board is, I will send you the link to it (on the otherboard). There are alot of men, who are only interested in the massage category, than the full service category. The Boston Spa board! lol I had to find the name of it..I just sent it to you, via email. We all gauge our experiences by what we see.  You see the guys who call.  We men see the ladies who post.  Our experiences, therefore may differ, but they're probably linked...

1)  Phoenix...  There are some great ladies there, but it's a lot of pain and suffering to separate the wheat from the chaff.  I never use them.

2)  Eros...  High-quality ladies, generally very reputable.  I scan Eros regularly and routine see ladies who post there.

3)  Exotics...  Has a mixed reputation, since there are a lot of ads that seem to border on scam situations (fake pictures, disguised agencies, that sort of thing).  I do scan it occasionally, but always tread with caution.

4)  Cityvibe...  I do scan this, but not often.  I don't think I've ever contacted someone based only on a Cityvibe ad...

5)  Escorts.com...  I like this site, although since it's gone pay, it's not as helpful.  A lot of low-profile ladies, and I've generally had very good experiences.

6)  Sophie's Mentertainment...  Rather low profile, but a good selection of ads.

7)  Blue Pleasures...  A good listing site, but since I no longer have a membership, I don't tend to ever check it.

Then there are zillions of other listing sites that have a random scattering of ladies, some of whom actually ask to be listed and some of whom are apparently "conscripted" by spammers who post pictures without permission.  These include Adult Boston, Amerisex, Epic Dreams, Escort-Finder, EscortsBoston, Escorts-n-Fetishes, Gentlemen's Review, Playtime411, Provider Post, Redzone, Sexy Escort Ads, Toli-Guide, Urban Nights, US Ladies, Hush Zone, and World Escort Center...  There are probably some nuggets in there, but none of them really have enough scale to warrant much attention...

Now what about Yellow Pages, the Big Book, Boston Magazine etc...  do you ever scan those?

The Eros Guide I'm on and it's very good. I'm also with Boston Magazine and I've gotten a LOT of Biz off of that.
I've had a Yellow Book Ad for a couple of years and like The Phoenix  it's not working out...toooo many Jerks calling.

Stick to TER ,That Other Board we post on,Eros and Boston Magazine. Also   Escort web sites are always emailing me to put a free ad on their site so I get a lot of biz that way too.

In my opinion Eros is the way to go!!!  The Boston Magazine I tend to find to be pricey and really not worth advertising in.  You may also want to try the Weekly Dig.  The prices are alot less expensive than the Phoenix and Matt who over sees the Adult ads is a real sweet heart and give you really good deals once he knows who you are.  It is like the phoenix but tends to cater to more business men than the phoenix.  That's because it primarily circulates in the Boston business district.  Hope this helped you out more.  Oh, yeh. Almost forgot to mention that if you want to do a banner exchange than I'd be willing to do so.
