I make sure my vitamins and supplements are steadily going daily. Things like echanachia, vitamins, d, b,c, zinc, l lysine. I take othrr vitamins too but i think these are the ones good for the immune system. I drink an Emegen C once a day. Lots of water is also a good idea anytime but especially during flu season. I am constantly washing my hands especially traveling.  Speaking of traveling, I don't touch anything if I can help it, using my forearm pushing bathroom doors open, etc... I also carry antibacterial wipes and as soon as I get seated on the plane, I wipe everything around me, tray table, air vent, arm rest... you get the idea.  If someone appears sick, I try my best to get away from them and their germs.  In hotel rooms I use the antibacterial wipes on all hard surfaces including door knobs,  tables, the phone, light switches, lamp switches, basically everything. I also carry spray Lysol. I spray the pillows, bedding, chairs and sofas with lysol. Hand sanitizer is a must have too. All of these items can be purchased in travel size too but I buy in bulk so I just carry the travel size stiff on the plane. I usually just carry the wipes and hand sanitizer in the plane.
Hope this helps!
Be well everyone! 😚

It only takes a few minutes and a few extra bucks to do all these things. Better than those hyped up flu vaccinations that load your brain with mercury and you'll still end up with the flu.
Maybe you hadn't noticed but I fuck people, multiple people weekly.  I'd do damn near anything not only to keep myself healthy but the gentlemen I see and their families.  Not to mention,  the flu is killing people this year. It's really not that much to take a few extra steps to stay healthy. I don't know what person has stayed in those rooms before me.
Seems like all these things are a lot easier than getting the flu 😉

My approach to staying "flu free" is much different, I just make it a point to keep my BAC  (blood alcohol content) up to it's optimum level and I have weathered the last thirty or so flu seasons just fine. I really don't expect this year to be any different.

That said, I do feel for those of you who do get the flu.

Thank you so much for the info impposter!

These Are the Dirtiest Places in Your Hotel Room

"You may want to pack some disinfectant wipes the next time you travel.

When you stay in a hotel room, you usually expect that staff have cleaned it thoroughly after the last guest stayed there. But this is not always the case, and even regular cleaning can leave travelers open to other people’s germs, experts say."

Or read the whole article:

As a hobbyist, I am always concerned about what I could potentially bring home with me- hell, a long strand of hair on my coat that isn’t my wife’s could be damaging enough!  And I also go to lengths to make sure I am as clean and hygenic as possible for the benefit of the lady that is hosting me- just common courtesy, as I see it (perhaps it’s not as common as it should be?) sure makes the session that much more enjoyable when your not distracted the whole time thinking ‘what am I exposing myself to?

I think with how bad the flu is this year, I am surprised there aren’t many ladies under its influence this year- (no pun intended)

I sincerely applaud your efforts to stay healthy- you sound like a lady that i would  like to meet someday-

I think "what am I exposing myself to?" When I sit on hotel furniture! 😂
You have a pm btw 😚

I've never had a flu shot and have to thing real hard as to when i was last sick with anything resembling the flu- perhaps when i was back in more of a closed ventilation office space working...like Years ago. I do the normal vitamin regime, but exercise, diet, and exposure to nature has me pretty flu-proof these days...or maybe its just me.. Been blessed to have the last decade where i can't remember even being sick...so not doing anything out of the ordinary..

I have purposely avoided them as so many who DO get it seem to get sick😞

I had to have one 3 years ago because I had a grandchild on the way, but other than that I do not get it- very poor efficacy this year in particular- I feel like it just causes more problems than it solves if you an otherwise healthy person living an active life

The flu is caused by the flu virus, not by the flu vaccine. They have to plan and prepare flu vaccine MONTHS in advance of the flu season without knowing exactly which strain or strains will be the most important ones when October arrives. Usually, they get it better than they did this year. The virus keeps mutating so they use lots of measurements and lots of other data to make their predictions. The vaccine can still stimulate your immune system and protect you against some of the strains that you might be exposed to.

Not as effective this year because the virus mutated again. Flu vaccine does not cause disease.

Herd immunity. Even strong, healthy people should be vaccinated to protect the whole herd.
.
The CDC is a more reliable source of info about public health than People Magazine or The Enquirer.

And I do understand a good bit about immunology- I know the vaccine does not make you sick, but part of how vaccines work in eliciting an immune response I think can cause people that are already subclinically compromised to have flu like symptoms.

As far as herd mentality goes, for childhood diseases I agree with you- I am concerned about mom’s who don’t want their kids immunized against, say, measles, because they feel the vaccine is potentislly more harmful- but to a small child it could be deadly.   The thing I do object to is the medical community because of time and cost constraints giving a little one all vaccine injections in the same visit! I think this is a massive assault on the immune system and to think that they can have an appropriate immune response  to such an onslaught of antigen and adjuvant given all at once is crazy!  Never mind the trauma of seeing a little guy get for needles at once!

That may be, but those symptoms are the normal immune response and their body is not being FURTHER compromised by an expanding population of viruses and bacteria. Vaccines are SUPPOSED to elicit an immune response and everyone responds differently. Each year, there are flu vaccine options.  If you are X, Y and Z, you shouldn't get the Vaccine A but you get Vaccine B.

The statistics are clear: there is a greater chance of REAL harm from measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough, etc. than from the vaccines themselves.
Last point first: MMR is usually given as a single, combination vaccination. Big deal. Kids will suffer more scrapes and scratches and falls than one little sterile needle stick. The CDC is constantly evaluating data to make the best recommendations at any given time. BECAUSE they are driven by scientific data and not astrological charts, the recommendations change from time to time. Current data leads them to recommend a particular vaccination schedule for children ... and to recommend against an older protocol that they now consider to be less effective.  Next year or in a few years, they will update their recommendations BASED ON ACTUAL SCIENTIFIC DATA, not headline news stories.

I agree with Terrilynn!  I travel for my regular job and do the same thing when staying in hotels. Never hurts to sanitize all you can and keep the accommodations clean and as germ free as possible.
Hope everyone stays well this Flu season! xx
