My sister was waiting for a phone call from her boyfriend on my phone, and she picked up when it rang.  It was a blocked phone call for me.  I was in the shower.  The person asked all kinds of questions that were out of bounds.  My sister had no idea how to answer, so she just yessed the person.  I do know that the person asked if I worked for RS 5 yrs ago.  No, I did not.  I guess the guy is Peter.  Peter if u r reading this post, u can call back and talk to me and unblock u r number.  I apologize for my sister, but she was taken by surprise and did not know what to do.

I have a question for other providers, Do u accept blocked calls, and how do u handle them?  My web-site states no blocked calls, but I still get them.  What would u do?  Any advice is always good advice on here!!  Thanks a bunch...Katherine

Most providers ignore blocked calls.  Many providers also have a separate business phone that they don't turn on when they can't or don't want to answer it.  At the very least you need to keep your phone away from relatives or friends if they don't know what you are doing for a living.

No offense but you can't count on a horny guy calling you to behave properly on the phone.  You need to isolate your business persona from your personal life.

Don't answer blocked calls, there is no reason for someone to block the call for a known provider.  If the provider has a good reputation then just call, worried about the statement coming home?  Buy a throw away phone or call from a payphone & let the provider know that is what you are doing.

Also, ding dongs, don't call in the middle of the night...it's just down right rude.  Most of us post our hours & 1:30 in the AM is not an acceptable time to be calling anyone unless it's an emergency!

My website cleary states NO blocked calls but some guys miss that part I guess. I have 2 phones to keep my personal life and work apart. Before I started to ignore blocked calls I learned that 99% of those callers are only messing about.

I personally do not answer the phone unless I know who is calling.  Especially blocked numbers.  Took phone number off my site while ago and in my message instruct those who were not screened yet to contact me via e mail for screening.

I've been in a situation where I was using a blocked number (why it was blocked doesn't really matter).  I got a message that said " ... this number does not accept calls from blocked numbers".
I used *82 then called the number and the call went through like it normally does.

I don't know if this is a feature the Telephone Company can provide or some machine you can buy. Either way it seems to be a way to handle the problem.

Good Luck.

It's called "Call Intercept."  If an incoming number is blocked, it tells the caller that their call can not go through, and it gives them the opportunity to record their name, which is played for the call recipient, to see if they want to take the call.  Well worth the $1.98 or whatever it costs per month.
