Both escorts and customers where set up in sting operations.  It's not in the article that I linked to but one of the guys who plays the "Pat Patriot" mascot was among those arrested...

Actually I was under the impression that it was links containing personal information about TER members. I did actually read the article and did not see any recognizable TER handles.

The policy reads as follows....

"PERSONAL INFORMATION
Posting personal information of members or provider, including content copied from their emails and Private Messages, is grounds for BANISHMENT."

If I am incorrect I'm sure the mods will delete my post and ban me for life.

Ben(mr. gutless alias), I didn't post names on the board. I linked to an article that mentions no TER member handles.  Have a nice day, if you can manage to get your head out of your ass...

What is fucking gutless is YOU posting hobbyists real names on a TER board. I don't give a fuck if it was in the news. You chose to disseminate it.

That link led to some names and when you google those names you find some pretty interesting things-
One of those girls in particular is really headed down a bad path at a young age. She looks to have a rocky future if she doesn't change. I can't see where "the system" is doing anything to help slow her pace or change her direction. It's a sad state of affairs and this law does nothing to help change it.

Wouldn't people want ot be informed of information like this, with actual source attached instead of "anoymous" hearsay.

The link was a major news paper for RI, they are pretty much outed at that point. Unless those people are using thier real names as thier TER name or working name, how was this post innapropriate?

Posting it seems to do exactly what this site is attended to do, promote and maximize safety in what is an illegal activity.

I posted no ones name and I did not violate the rules of TER.  I disseminated nothing.  I linked to an article that does not violate TER policy.  Another poster did the exact same thing several weeks ago and your voice of idiocy was strangely unheard...

If you are so morally outraged why do you need to hide behind an alias?  The names are all over the papers and the guy who works for the Patriots has had his name on Television since last night.  You can't un-ring a bell BD.

To add to that, if there is to be any moral outrage, then why not at the ProJo?

Oh right, that would be railing against the First Amendment.

I could debate this about the entire prison system in the US, but I won't go on a rant.

Suffice to say, putting small, non-repeat offenders into prison versus some rehab program doesn't work.

But I digress...

I agree.
I'm not sure there was/is any prison involved here but I think the girl has serious anger and defiance issues. By now "the system" should be looking at the pattern and finding a way to alter the behavior. Left as is, the system is fueling the fire.

That is EXACTLY what this site is supposed to be about. Racy videos and bad jokes are all well and good but information about what is happening in the hobby in our area is what is important.
If one of the folks named in that article happens to be a member here no one will ever know.
The sad fact is if you play and get caught your name ends up in the paper. What's the solution here? Don't play foolishly.

Sorry if anyone reading here was on the list that was in the ProJo but hey, you should have screened better...

Not that old_lottery_ticket did anything wrong but Google'ing the names of the busted people?

That is the problem with direct linking to busts.

Its a double, triple invasion of the people who have busted.

Not a single one of us is infallible and every client and provider who thinks that they have the system so down pat that they'll never walk into a trap has a surprise in store in the future awaiting them.

I think we should be courteous to providers and clients, even if they have made a silly mistake, and NOT link to reports here.

Relay the information, of course.  Let users draw their own conclusions and then go search elsewhere.

But like Crystal said, when one of you gets popped don't be angry when someone flashes the link with your address and full name on TER for other members to turn around and Google their asses off to find more dirt.

I'm away and come back to an active thread! I like it, but really, let's get it in control.

BostonGuy57 posted a link to an article to inform the TER community of the LE activity.  No personal info was linked to any TER member. In other words, no TER member was outed by their handle.

Had BostonGuy57 or anyone else linked personal info to a TER handle/member than there would be an issue. Therefore, the posts stand and there's been no foul by BostonGuy57.

However, I am giving people fair warning using alias. Please do not use an alias that is close to TER member's handle i.e. BostonGuy@#*$& or DVbites, etc.

Why create more drama than necessary?

Posting a link about a bust in our hobby was my only intent here.  The fact that the arrested folks names appeared in the link should come as no surprise to anyone.  It's been SOP for years with most local newspapers.  Does posting a link here mean that more people will read the article? Maybe, maybe not but the names are already out there, in some cases all over television news as well.

Now, it's beyond me why anyone would need to start Googling the names of those folks that got busted but hey, we live in the information age now and we all need to accept the fact that this sort of shit happens.  The internet has created a whole new source af endless trivia for the perpetually curious and bored. That's life folks.

What's the take away here? Don't get busted in the first place.  I came to the wonderful world of internet hobbying years ago when the Boston Police Department started "operation squeeze" and started busting guys and printing their names in the paper.  The first time I read about a bust was the last time I tried to pick up a streetwalker.  As far as I'm concerned Craig's List has long been the 21st century equivalent of picking up street walkers.  It's the new low-hanging fruit for LE and anyone involved in the hobby who relies on CL is asking for trouble.

Screen, be careful and don't get caught in the first place. It's a jungle out there...

Bruschi Girl et all,

While I understand your concern, please understand the information is out there. We do not know if they are members of TER or not.

The posts and all other information will be deleted if we discover they are members of our TER community. That's been the case for several SPs and clients.

I am simply stating anyone can go and find stories, articles and otherwise of people busted for the hobby. So let's move on and get into the holiday spirit.

I for one would love to go and simply be happy.

;)
