Another "Confused" Provider

Ok, here we go again.

Had an arrangement with a provider for last night which I though would be enticing for both of us.

Dinner at a very nice establishment in Nashua followed by a 3 hour session back at my favorite (and upscale) hotel in the area.

She calls to say she will be late for dinner.  I eat dinner alone after 90 minutes of waiting.  When the check comes, I get a note that she will have to meet me at the hotel later.

At midnight I get a call from her saying she can't make it at all, sick friend in need of help.

As I am checking out this morning, she is walking downstairs to breakfast with another guy.

(Note: I am a regular, understanding, and she is high-priced).

Got to love it.  Nothing is sacred anymore!

(deep sigh)

What's a hobbyst to do?

If that happened to any member of the Schlong family, her name and contact info would be in CAPS on a RIPOFF and STAY AWAY list.
That ROB wasted your time big time, and you are being a wuss about it.

Please tell us the name of the provider.  Otherwise your post
has no value to this board.

Maybe she was actually employed by Sheraton and it was her job to take care of both of you, only she must have forgotten you!

Anyway, I hope you hit the brewing co on Main.

providing info on ladies to others.  Sometimes, we need advice from fellow members that understood the special problems we encountered in this hobby or simply vent our frustrations to others.  The LA board members are more compassionate to fellow members in this regard.

That's the way I read this post. I'm not sure if I would have let her name get through if loarthan had included it. It certainly seemed that the lady screwed up big time but (especially since loarthan said he is a regular) maybe she'll try to fix it.

Please let us know if she tries to make it right.

Thanks for the responses, now to my replies:

[1] I didn't name her because she is basically a good person that had a very bad spate of judgement that evening.  What I was trying to point out was that some (luckily fewer every week) providers don't seem to understand professionalism and creating an honorable environment.  If she was elsewise involved that evening or got a better offer, she should have simply told me and I would have made other arrangements (maybe that night would have been my first encounter with some other local provider, I am still trying to see Melinda for a first time (smile)).

[2] If I am a milk-toast (or something to that effect) for being sensitive to someone that is misguide, then I am guilty as charged.  Remember, we have a great amount of power here.  One bad review of this nature can destroy a woman's income (or at least cripple it for a time).  Which one of us has not made a mistake of this nature once in our lives.

[3] Did it hurt seeing her the next morning, yes.  Did I approach her, no.  Why bring myself down to that level.

[4] It was the Marriott and she is not employed there.

[5] If writing about these kind of experiences is not the purpose of this board, then is this board simply to be used for advertising and complements.  One of our providers has even started posting erotica and stories here for our enjoyment (thank you dear heart).  Laments seem appropriate here as well.

Hope this was cleansing for you, it certainly was for me.

Finally, I am looking for a replacement playmate.  Anyone interested? (smile)

your knowledge of the area is very refreshing to see.  it's nice to see a non-resident lady do her homework too.

i agree with others that we should all be made privy to this lady's name.  as much as the ladies deserve some degree of protection the guys deserve it also.  the ladies are warned of brutes and other such bad apples.  why shouldn't the boys be warned of scammers etc?

Heather, care to email me so we can chat out the BrewCo.  Martha's has always been one of my favorite haunts.

Love the IPA, how about you?

I also enjoy the wine bar across the street at Michael Timothy's.  Care to arrange a meeting there for a glass and some cheese? (smile)

Congratulations on "taking the high road." The way I try to look at it...if I retaliate against someone in a situation like this, I'm as bad as they are.

Just curious...do you know if she reads this board? I hope so. She'll find out that she's lost a good customer who is also a better person (at least in this situation) than she is.

If you were a regular, then you must have enjoyed her company. It's up to you, but I would let her know that you waited all night, spent money on the room, and also saw her the next morning. If she cares for your business, she will make it up to you. If not, she might just understand how she lost a good customer and maybe think twice nextime, or at least get a lesson in customer service.

I lived in that area about 4 years ago so I know that area and all New England, NY, CT, NJ, MA, NH, ME, like the back of my hand.

Where is there a Marriot in Nashua? What's that killer restaurant called that's on Main in Manchester. It looks like an upscale bar/restaurant, largely wood. Basement with tables for dining and drinks. More upscale than sports bar. Good food there too. That place still there?

Call me!

Hey Loarthan,

Check my post to Gecko. Maybe you can answer that question. Look foward to seeing you for wine and cheese. Michael Timothy's looks cute, never been but know where it is. Maine, south of the library. Boy, it's so beautiful up there I just can't wait for my trip next week. But for pizza, there's a killer good place in Norwalk, CT. Family place, huge portions of everything.

Man, this is like culinary "best of" trivia.

Le Chambord is the bomb. Hopewell, Junction, NY. Far cry from a slice and brie. The variety of wines there is mindblowing and the desserts fabulous. If anyone want to go to dinner there when I'm in NY too, let me know. It's a quaint country inn and restaurant. Very much my style.

Oh, I can almost feel the wind blowing the the trees rustling off the Taconic.

:O)

Sorry you feel that way.  Fortunately, a discussion board is for information, education, and dicussion.

I simply chose to start a discussion.

I am sorry that you had to go through the aggravation of the situation.  I am sure there are many other providers who would be more than willing to spend an evening with you. Good Luck, Ashley

Heather,

For the life of me I can't place the Marriott in Nashua.  I must be having a brain cramp.  Ramada?  I know it well.  Clarion Somerset?  I know it.  Sheraton?  I got it.

Michael Timothy's is a bit overrated but still fun.

Care for some Italian from Ya Mamma's?  It's soooooooooo good.
If you like seafood you'll have to come up to Manchester to the Starfish grill.

I think that the potential clients deserve to know who does this sort of thing.  You, of course, do not want to do this in an irresponsible manner.  I suggest an ernest attempt to discuss the situation with the provider and see what really happened and then make your decision.  Then if you find out that she was meeting brother from out of town who was there to visit their very sick mom (fat chance, but possible)you will feel better and all will be well with the world.  Or, I we all suspect is the case, she chose to stand you up for bigger bucks you can give her what she and we deserve: a posting of who behaves this way.

Lorathan,
I am sorry to hear you had such a bout of bad luck. I for one know what it is like to have stuff come up, but to lie to a client and then end up walking out with another one in the morning is tasteless at very best. You are a good man for standing on the high ground. Hopefully this post has taught us that honesty is the best policy. There are so many great providers out there..and you seem very nice you will not be lonely for long. Best of luck sweetie. xoxo Stacey

Heather there is a Marriot located up in Nashua NH. Its physical address is:
2200 Southwood Dr
Nashua, NH 03063
USA

You can map out direction on map quest. It is a rather charming hotel. It is one of the larger hotels up in NH. Be well and enjoy your stay. PS if you need anything feel free to email me.

Hey folks, lighten up!

I have gotten many emails, IMs and messages wanting to know this woman's name.  At this rate I am glad I have maintained my silence.  You folks would have ruined her for sure.

I am sorry I bothered everyone by mentioning this.  In the future, I will simply keep this type of thing to myself.  I am sorry if you feel I have misused the board in someway.

The discussion I was interested in seems to have turned into a witch hunt.

Come on folks, get over it.  It was suppose to generate discussion, not anarchy.

Thirsty, sorry this blew up.  In the future, I will be more careful about what I post here.

Regards,
Loarthan
