ops: Cash, car disappear after ‘consensual’ bondage
An Arlington man who police say consented to being handcuffed and blindfolded by another man he met online called cops yesterday after the stranger robbed him and took off with his car, authorities say.
“This does not appear to be a random act of violence, and we do not want residents to be in fear for their safety,” Arlington, MA police Chief said of the robbery, which was reported on Spy Pond Parkway around 2 p.m.
Arlington cops responding to a reported robbery spoke with an unidentified man who told them he had been bound and robbed
by a man he met through
an “online classifieds service” and that “the hand-
cuffs and blindfold were consensual,” according to police.
Investigators believe the victim picked up the suspect at the Alewife MBTA station and he was robbed of cash and his 2008
Ford Edge after returning home.
The car, police say, was recovered a short time
later outside the same train
station.
The suspect is described as a tall white man, approximately 30-35 years old, who was last seen wearing Boston Celtics clothing and has a neck tattoo
