Okay, so if you don't have a BDSM club in your community, where can you learn about The Scene?
When I first started at Threshold (back when dinosaurs walked the earth), there weren't THAT many books out there about BDSM. The two "biggies" at the time were SM 101 by Jay Wiseman and Screw The Roses, Send Me The Thorns by Molly Devan and Phillip Miller. (Both available on Amazon.com.) They cover pretty much the same material (i.e., "the basics"). Roses is a bit easier to read.
Fortunately for us (and YOU!), this terrific publishing house named Greenery Press has been committed to releasing outstanding reference material on human sexuality, which some amazing "how to" books on more intermediate and advanced BDSM (and non-BDSM) topics.
Now, here's where I really envy you TNG (The Next Generation, 21 - 35 y.o.) types . . . There's a fantastic website named KinkAcademy.com, which offers short instructional videos on a wide variety of BDSM topics, and they add new videos every week. So, for those who can't make it to a class at their local BDSM club, this is the next best thing. (Maybe even better, since you can rewind and re-watch, if you miss something that was said or done.) I think it's less than $100 for a 1-year subscription. Think of it as an on-line trade school, particularly for any of our lovely providers out there who might be considering adding BDSM to their portfolio of services.
