VIP membership purchase?

Just curious if there is some magic trick to purchasing VIP with a cc via the TER furnished web links?  I have a working card but it is rejected with a message displayed "declined by the bank".  My bank says no such thing happened according to their records.

I've seen other similar inquiries in the past but since it didn't matter to me at the time, I didn't pay it much attention.

Should I just send a check somewhere?

Thanks.

with the processors network used by TER and other vendors.

It's a relatively rare occurrence now compared to 10 yrs ago, but does still happen from time to time.

that the bank couldn't tell you why the charge didn't go through. I had a charge declined when paying for another site once, and my bank said it was because the billing was from another country. All it took was for me to tell them to change the security parameters to allow the charge to go through. Dunno if this helps, but good luck anyway.

told him that it never declined any TER transactional charge, even though the TER site rejected his transaction with such a message.

It sounds like a breakdown in communication between the Point of Sale (PoS), TER site, and the merchant bank (the bank which issued Pwilley his credit card).

That's why I believe there's an issue with the credit card processor network used by TER. When the network is down, the PoS  is unable to transmit the transaction to the merchant bank.

That's usually the most likely culprit. Other problems could include IT network infrastructure, problems with internal accounting mechanisms, etc. But those are usually less probable reasons for declined transactions.

I am aware of what Pwilley stated. And once again, I am stating that my bank, in a case like that, would have researched the problem and told me exactly where the problem lay. And I gave one example of such an occurrence. Just my .02 though

Well, today I retried the purchase and all went just like clockwork.  VIP now active.  Guess as some suggested some link somewhere must have been down yesterday.  Thanks for the input.
