You hired someone and didn't need the Feds help!

Seriously though, good to hear that business is going so well that you got someone to keep your schedule straight.

As someone who knows, Office Wife and House Wife (business and personal) tell me where to go, what to do, and how much I should get paid. I say "Yes Dear" a lot, but get to do more of what I enjoy. It all works out.

Besides, Paperwork Sucks!

I hired an assistant! She starts tomorrow. This should put an end to any communication errors, on my part.

The assistant is a good idea; mainly because the raving ex you mentioned will no longer have full access to client info.

Good luck, keep doing you!

I really can't imagine why all successful, popular ladies wouldn't have an assistant to help keep track of their schedules.

Good move Caitlin.

...kid around about quite a bit.

It was a honest 'good luck'...sorry for the offend as I should have been more obvious about it.

In both cases (one very recent), there were substantial scheduling problems when they got rid of their assistants.  So, even though I'm sure it's an annoying cost, it will probably pay off to have an assistant.

That way, you can concentrate on what you do best!  (Gee.  I wonder what that would be.)

as well as you communicate with your assitant. I know it will be easier to make one call to assistant if you need to cancell your appointments for the day and let them make all the calls and send out all the e-mails.

Any provider that needs an assistant to book her appointments is too high volume for my tastes.
I prefer couture, not ready to wear.

I think a Provider, regardless of her "volume". is very wise to employ a screener/appointment setter, if she believes such a hire will improve her business and/or overall state of organization.

I have a secretary - not because I don't know how to answer the phone, make my own schedule, etc, - but because it frees me to perform at levels I'm paid to perform at in my job.  I am extremely good at my job, but am a disorganized mess if left to do the administrative details of my overall responsibilities.

Over the course of my provider life I had several situations when I needed help of an assistant.

1) I had a full time job.

Being part time provider I saw one - two gentlemen a week on night and weekends.  I had an assistant for simple reason - it was impossible to screen and schedule my rendevouz while working in small office without attracting too much attention.

2) I have main stream business.

These days I do most of my screening/scheduling myself, however I do have a "stand by operator".  Usually I hire her when my main stream business takes up majority of my time and I need help with initial screening, especially when I travel.
