WhiteKnightsSuck, some things i agree with you on, and some things i disagree with you on.

I disagree that giving your real name to a provider or showing her your ID would hurt you in any way.

Now i do agree with you that any Hobbyist who provides his place of employment or work number is a "ignorant fool". But im not sure what i think about the on-line web forms yet, as i would like to hear other opinions, as regards to the on-line web forms before i rule them out.

2 references, TER Handle, ID and my real name usually does it for me. Although id never give out work info out of fear of blackmail.

I only provide my name, 2 references and picture ID.

I see no risk in providing that info, or any way that i could be blackmailed. As always im open to any advice others might have.

Ladies and Agency owners, how often do you get guys who simply, for some strange reason, don't understand why their legal name and I.D. is required to be given/shown to you or a lady that works with you?  I had a guy say to me, "If you want to see my I.D. I want to see yours"! He then proceeded to tell I was 'missing out' when I declined the appointment. The nerve!

I'm completely OK with showing my ID or furnishing personal information for the purpose of scheduling an appointment.  I can understand why agencies and indies ask for it, and don't have a problem giving it.  But I don't understand why you don't get someone's reluctance to show your their ID.  It isn't strange at all.  His response was less than desirable, granted, but he wanted to be completely anonymous in the transaction.  What's not to get?

Except for when I first began partaking of the hobby, I have never had to give my full name and ID. Even then, I was careful to use a provider who was recommended by friends. I do use Preferred411 verification and anyone can tell I have been on TER for quite a while. Now, I think I would feel a bit uncomfortable giving my full ID information.

both agencies and providers alike, I am quite comfortable showing my ID to providers that I see. On average, providers are at greater risk from a safety perspective than their clients.

I have yet to come across a provider that whipped out a portable scanner and tried to copy down my ID information verbatim.

ok, let me lay the situation out better. this guy thought he had the right to see me just because he called and had a required donation. he was a first-timer, or so he said, so verification through P411, DC, RS or references (which ARE ALL acceptable for me) were not an option. i tried to explain it to him and he got mad. i'm pretty sure most ladies who post here on a consistant basis would have denied him as well?.?. am i wrong?

I haven't encountered any providers that looked at my ID, and then writes down my address. Usually they just glance at it and hand it back to me.

But you are correct knowing someones address does expose you to some extent. Even though i will still provide them with 2 references, My TER Handle, ID, and name, you certainly got me thinking.

Hey in life you gotta trust people, and hope you don't get burned, Ive put my trust in the ladies here, and so far they've been trustworthy.

license ready to show her. It's no different than going to a bank to cash a check, or checking in at a hotel. With some exceptions, I have the advantage because I know what she looks like, but she doesn't know what I look like. If I think her requests are unreasonable, there's always the option to move on.

I have been doing this for 5 years now and have never, ever shown an ID or given my full legal name - much less provide a place of employment or work number.

There are so many other ways to be verified and screened that doesn't put the Hobbyist at such risk.  I would certainly question the intelligence of a Hobbyist that would actually complete one of those ridiculous on-line web forms  that request personal information - unless he is single, unemployed, with nothing to lose.

Thank u sailor66. i started to question myself for a minute. then again i see some of the major agencies in the area notify potential customers that their ID will need to be shown to the lady of their choosing before the session can officially be underway.

so are you guys not really being asked to produce them majority of the time or were the guys that responded earlier only seeing Indies who u gave P411/DC info like the 1st poster mentioned? and even with that info given, isn't it plausible that a guy could use his friends' p411 or DC info and if not asked for an ID the lady doesn't truly know who she is seeing?

i'm a newbie, so please don't be harsh. i'm just trying to be safe here while remaining senitive to clients privacy to an extent.

that some providers use online website appointment forms are not fully encrypted and funnel information to a database that is relatively easy to hack.

As such, I prefer to communicate my references and personal information via email or phone.

That being said, I would say that I'm asked for I.D. about 60% of the time. You have the right to ask for I.D. to ensure your own safety. Asking to see a drivers license isn't unreasonable.

It shouldn't be too surprising that trust in this hobby is hard to take for granted.  No provider wants to put herself in physical danger.  No hobbyist wants his activities used against him.

for clients to screen indy providers and agencies.

For example, repeated instances of "no call, no show" behavior from providers and clients alike could be endemic or symptomatic of larger problems down the road.

The warning signs are readily available to be seen. But some are easily fooled by a pretty face, hard body, or sexual ability.

I have yet to be disappointed by any provider that I would just as readily hire on my work team because of her punctuality, professionalism, and conscientious behavior.

Obviously this rules out those providers guilty of repeated NCNS behavior, as those types of employees in the "real world" get fired fast.

... my first date was with an indie - I am self-employed, I emailed her my pic, my employment, phone #. I guess she checked me out. When I showed up at her incall, she recognized me from the pic and there was no further discussion.

IMO as a provider you need to know who are seeing before you make the arrangement to be sure they are legit and not LE, IMHO.

because it is not worth the risk!!

I have only ONCE seen someone without knowing his last name or checking his ID and that is because he had over two dozen P411 Okays, including ones from providers I know and trust.

It has happened less than a handful of times to me that I have had to turn someone away because they refused to supply the required information.

Food for thought:  What would prevent a man from using his friend's name and references to see you?
It would simply take me too long to explain all of the reasons on here, but feel free to PM me honey.

Bottom line, IT'S NEVER WORTH THE RISK.   I feel so bad for ladies who feel desperate enough to compromise their safety for the money.  I never will and I wish nobody else would, either...  It makes it unsafe for all of us out there, IMHO.

Stay safe,
~Genna

what you described, Genna is EXACTLY what I just PMd someone about. It happened to me. Only the guy gave me employment info that turned out not to be his. He gave me the number and name and I called and pressed ext. # and it was to a box with the given name. But when he got there his id did not match! He even fessed up to it but by then I just couldn't go through with it.

Providers can be indiscreet and cavalier with their client's info.  Even ones who are well reviewed and well known.

personally, i match the name given to me with the name on ID. that's it. i don't take it and make a copy of it or write anything down. i'm NOT asking for your DL # which is a 7 or 8 digit number (kinda hard to engrain into my brain) i don't even have to hold it. it takes a 2 second glance to read a first and last name. so for a lady to read a name, DL #, birthday, numeric street # and zipcode in 2-3 secs and remember it until you have left... she's a genius.

My very first experience in the hobby was through a highly reputable agency with a gorgeous girl and I had a great time despite what I now understand was a somewhat limited menu.  I cannot remember if ID was required or not.

My second experience was through a provider I selected on Eros.  I scheduled and had to make several calls to get to her.  The first from a gas station which she specified and I expect she had a way to somehow see me or even creepier have someone there check me out.  When I finally was able to get to her apartment in a high rise, she rushed me in through the door and looked quickly both ways into the hall then triple locked the door.  She asked for my ID and inspected it comparing my face to my picture at great length.  I was standing in the kitchenette and as she gave my id back she asked me to place both hands on the counter leaning forward with feet apart.  She proceeded to frisk me.  (This was not nearly as fun as it could have been.)  Of course, I just knew she must be a cop or worse but as a newbie and an idiot, I said nothing.  I guess she had some comfort then that I was neither LE or some goon who would hurt her and we proceeded to the living room where we 'played' on a chase lounge.  The experience was terrible as she did everything she could to get me to finish ASAP.  I hate it when I ask to slow things down and the provider just seizes the moment and rushes you through.  I quickly learned how to stop this from happening.   I was out the door again very quickly.  All in all an awful experience.  As I left, I realized there had been a man in the next room the whole time.  I feel this was actually some sort of pimp set-up.  I should mention that this was before I found TER.  I've never found myself in such a terrible situation again.  Also, the provider seemed to disappear from the scene not long after that.

The second ID situation involves a high dollar traveling companion who was visiting ATL for the first time.  She looked so hot and had great reviews.  I called to schedule and worked with what I thought was her assistant.  The ensuing encounters both by phone and in person with respect to the screening process confused me greatly and I never did quite resolve whether she was doing her own screening and pretending to have an assistant or if she actually did use another girl to help with screening and scheduling.  When I arrived, I almost was turned away because I'd used the name that I go by which is a common shortening of my middle name and my license had my full first and middle name.  She was very, very confused by this and almost turned me away.  I stayed low key, non-stressed, and as charming as I could be and she gave in.  It turned out to be an incredible session with one of the hottest ladies I've ever had the privilege to see.

These are just a few experiences I've had and probably do little to advance the topic really.  I thought they might be interesting to a few folks.  Please forgive if you found them irrelevant.

I have mostly used reputable agencies but am beginning to see some independents.  I've had very few times when ID was requested.

Happy Hobbying to all!

Beyond the legal consequences that both parties face, there is potential impact on life, work, family, significant other and reputation at risk in this hobby - hence why almost nobody uses their own name.

It is - or should be - obvious why certain agencies and independents screen, but there is a as much a risk to the hobbyist out there. Have a look at th various "mugshot" sites out there to Serbia many guys get busted, read the forums to see how many guys get ripped off or robbed by "managers".

There have been sensational incidents where an agency that was busted maintained records of "attendance" with their girls. While it was cryptic - just the last 4 digit of the cell number, the Feds were able to track down customers. While they could not prosecute the customers, they approached them for information, which in some cases I am sure caused all sorts of fallout at home.

I have shared work and DL info only twice for girls that I wreally, really wanted to see through agencies. Never that worried, nibbling thought often comes up of "what if they get busted and my door gets knocked on".

One independent that is rated on here asks to see a business card - I refused and elected not to see her. While she may not memorize all your details, do you really want someone whose profession is inherently illegal knowing who you really are?

For the providers who screen 100% - good for you! You obviously have the "brand" that guys will not only pay for but will bilaterally risk for.

The litmus test question to ask is - will you show me yours if I show you I
Mine?

We all have choices to make - everyone needs to figure out what they are conMfortable with. Be safe, have fun....

Will not jump through hoops for anyone. There is screening for safety and there is paranoia, can,t and won't deal with paranoia. There other methods of verifying and copying drivers license and bus card, etc. Are not the preferred options.
