for hobbying. Google gives out information to businesses and government. I am not saying that LE is using the info to bust people but why take the chance.

Google does poke around your inbox looking for ways to advertise to you.

I use a hotmail account as a hobby email. I also use a cheap Wal Mart Trac Phone as my hobby phone.

I am not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV, nor am I a fan of any of the data harvesting behemoths, but please don't let anyone assume that just because Google publicly reports this information, that other mail (or any other electronic) service providers do not comply with warrants at a comparable rate.

Additionally, I may not be the most paranoid conspiracy theorist, and I don't play one on TER, but If the magnifying glass of the government is aimed on a target, the sunlight will be amplified and there will be heat.

There is probably more safety in numbers because this is the same government that has developed a website called healthcare.gov

Government, if they ask. No options.

So, you not using Google does nothing for you. Whomever told you about Google and government doesn’t know nothing. Service providers also have strict guidelines as to how long they need to keep emails. So, does every business in America.

Unless you build your own service and keep it to yourself, you are pretty much shit out of luck.

You loose control when you get sucked into social networking and crowd sourcing. Once you figure out how to mange it you are in better shape.

You have to use browser that can use google in a secure manner. Is it 100% not it is not.

If NSA is after you, you are fucked

That is all one need to find your real identity. The moral of the story is, all of us believe that by doing this that and the other, we are protecting ourselves but the truth is, if someone is after you, they can surely find who you are from your electronic signature you leave all over the place. Every time you make a call, send a text, send an email, etc.

All you are doing is hiding from petty cyber criminals and if the LE, government or seasoned cyber criminals wants you, you are fucked. The best thing to do is to be one of the many and not standout in the crowd.

The device you are using had an IP address, serial number and your smart phone has a IMEI CODE which uniquely identifies every mobile device on the planet, throw away phone included.

As mentioned earlier, if someone is determined to track you down they can. As long as you are one in billion, no one cares which in this case is good thing.
