in the TER Baltimore forum yet? They may have some information on her.

I'm a little wary of indies on Backpage that are unestablished and unreviewed.

hobbyists should be prudent at all times, especially when it comes to avoiding unstable, unprofessional, foolish providers.

With the demise of Craigslist from a hobbying perspective, Backpage has become the go-to source of many indies, especially new, inexperienced ones.

LE knows this and sets up stings to catch the "low hanging fruit" so to speak.

Clients should be on their guard with regards to Backpage, to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.

Established, professional, reputable agencies and professional, experienced, stable indies are the smart way to go.

But that's just me.

but given that providers are more apt to know a client's true identity and work contact information, clients inherently have more to lose when dealing with a foolish, unstable, unprofessional provider.

Also important to note,  ladies be cautious of the foolish, unstable, unprofessional hobbyists.   Clearly, a double edged sword.

about your client friend. I agree he should have conducted a better due diligence on the provider in question.

I also agree that TER is the definitive source for clients to research providers and the hobbying field in general.

I don't agree that we can project whatever image we desire in the forums. Much like alcohol, forums only serve to bring out a person's true personality. I contend that how we act in person, even in private situations, is a facade at best and a complete act at worst.

The best providers are consummate actors. They're adept at making clients feel like their the most important person in the world at that moment. The best providers are skilled at hiding their true feelings for a client when in their presence.

Terms life GFE and PSE only bear this out. It's all about the experience, not about what the provider truly feels.

It's because of providers' acting skills that many a client has succumbed to falling in unrequited love with providers.

Providers know better. They know that at the end of the day, it's just a simple business transaction.

You are correct. That's why TER is the most valuable hobby site to share via backchannel, and search engine.

I had a dear friend, great man outted by a well known provider several years ago. Very popular lady on the board, but very inconsistent reviews. I believe had my friend done a bit more research behind the scenes, consulting with his fellow hobbyists, he would still be here today.  Some fellows are so "in the thick of it", they can't see the forest for the trees.

We can project whatever image on these boards we desire, however the true test is how we interact/conduct ourselves in private. A deceitful, cunning, vicious, unstable, individual's personality will eventually creep to the surface, and everybody will know it. This underground playground although has many players, is indeed a very small world.
