I totally agree with the original intent of the bill which was to protect young women from ritualistic muntilation, by their fathers normally.

Unfortunately, this is another example of a southern politician who is acting on "his" feelings about what is "appropriate" for women, instead of allowing them the choice to make their own appropriate choices on an individual basis.

As a Southern man I have grown up around this type of man. He probably is a Southern Baptist who thinks everyone should think exactly like him, yet in his private life is as corrupt as they come. He also wants to dominate every move the women in his life take and is probably a prime candidate for being an abusive husband or father.

Sorry I went on, it is just that we are in the 21st century. We should be living by the concepts of personal freedom in this country by now.
