Its a shame when u do a client a favor and call another provider to give a reference for them and the provider on the other end seems to have an attitude when they first say hello!!!! We all need to remember we are in a "customer service" business and your first impression counts..Doesn't matter if it is a client or a provider calling....Just amazes me on how some providers just don't get it!!!!...Sorry had to vent!!!

Nail on head with that one.  I have lost count of how many providers lose an opportunity for business when they come across as rude or hurried on the phone.  My logic will always be if they are that way on the phone then they will be that way in a session.

I agree with you 100%.  Out of all the calls I have made to other providers I would say almost half of the ladies were rude, or acted like they didn't have the time of day or willingness to help out the gentleman that I'm calling about.

I tell all my clients that if they need me as a reference to have there future dates contact me at anytime.

As I always say, Kill them with kindness.

I usually make it a habit to try and address email & return calls to Providers that are requesting a reference before anything else. I understand that many providers have a full schedule and their time is obviously valuable.... so I do my best to try to help, quickly,  in any way I can.

**AND while we are on that subject.... (just some food for thought). I have witnessed some providers being out and out abusive when a client calls to cancel an appointment, THAT is something I just don't understand... Sexy Ms Terri, as you have taken the time to point out, this is a service based form of income. I feel if a gentleman has enough manners to call and inform me that he is not able to keep an appointment then I am usually very grateful he took the time to give me the heads up. (Please do not mistake this for a "no-show" ...  that is a completely different story). But I think you are in line with your post and I am glad you made it.

I do not often contact providers for reference checks but, I have been fortunate in always enjoying a great conversation with all of the local ladies.....  I usually get off of the phone wishing we had more free time to chat!

I don't call other providers for references either, but I had a client who called me and asked if would call a certain provider that he wanted to see because for some reason she could not verify him...So I politely did the client a favor and called this provider and well u know what happened because what I posted...That is one reason I don't call for references....Nice to see u made it back safely girl...We will have to get together..

You definitely hit it right, Teri.  I just went through this several days ago...

Called Provider A for reference; she verified gent, mentioned she had verified him for Provider B and C; I mentioned; well, I hope he makes good on his appt. time!!  Lol...No big deal, right??  Wrong...

Said gent phones me to tell me that Provider B phoned him, was NOT nice at all...He stated that he had not actually set up an appt. with Provider B...

Needless to say; Provider A phoned Provider B, to tell her that I had phoned her for a reference after I spoke with Provider A...what is that?

This poor gent didn't know what to do;  I told him that I don't deal with those types of squabbles, and it is just me...

Needless to say, who do you think said gent went to see????

ME, ME, ME!!!!!  I also told him never to hesitate using me as a reference; I'm always nice...He said he wont see anyone but me from now on...  Like it was mentioned above; if you act that way on the phone, how do you think they will act in person???

Ladies, it is bad business to behave this way; No matter who phones or emails me for a reference; if they are a known provider or have reviews...no problem...I am always courteous...

The way I see it; if I get into a bind, I always recommend my gents to a provider I know who will treat him right, and does things the way they should be done...For those who decide not to play nice or be professional...I won't ever send anyone to you...plain and simple...

And that's my $.02!!!
