What is the last book(s) you've read?

I've forgotten how great it is to sit down and read a good book.

My last two were:

7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey

and

The Ethical Slut by Dossie Easton and Catherine A Liszt

Both of them are amazing!

What have you read lately??

I'm reading the Ethical Slut for the second time. I tend to read them twice before I can really sink my teeth into the ideals set in a book. Right now, its reinforcing what I've already believed. Its great to see that there are others out there, intellectuals, who have put into paper the  organized thoughts and feelings of so many. It had allowed me to help put my own views into something identifialble. I've really enjoyed the societal history of different sexualities and how views of sex has changed over time.
Sexuality is a personal thing. If you aren't secure, truly secure with yours, there's very little you will be able to honsestly offer to others.

7 habits of Hightly Effective People should be in every single person's home who is interested in creating forward positive change within themselves!

I think I'm headed to go buy the Da Vinci Code. Everyone I know is reading it or it's on the list.

I'll be buying "The DaVinci Code" today.  Everyone I know has said they couldn't put it down.

I just finished "From a Buick 8" by Stephen King.  I can't say I was disappointed with it, because I was never that enthusiastic about reading it.  I just picked it up when I was buying "Wolves of the Calla."

Here's my two line review of Stephen King's Dark Tower series.  I don't like the Fantasy genre.  I'm not into Westerns.  I LOVE the Dark Tower books.

I read this book about 30 yrs ago. Normally it takes me about 50 pages before I decide that I like the book or don't want to go on further. My son touted this book and I finally began to read it. It was the first book that I couldn't put down. I even took it to the dining table and read it while I ate. I have forgotten who the author is but if you want a book that will get you hooked, Shiboumi is the one. It's probably listed on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

By Kurt Vonnegut...Great book, exquisitely detailed, and just a good all-around read that lets your mind take you there....

My other favorite is:  "When Rabbit Howls" by Truddi Chase..Not in everyone's reading library, I'm sure, as it is about a woman with multiple personality disorder, but it reminds me that there are always people who have been through more than you could ever think you could bear, and 100x that...I truly believe this is my favorite book, ranked in equality

with:  "Valide" by Barbara Harris, I believe..a historical fiction about a woman that goes to a harem, and all that was involved there, and more than I can go on with here...The descriptive narration is definitely something that can get me going...

Great thread, I must say...

Grisham's has lost his ability to hold your attention at length , like he use to .  That's how I fell anyways . He must have writer's block     lol
