First  I did not say self defense would stop someone from putting a chemical in ones drink.And I don't care how many Black Belts you have they are only good enough to hold up your pants if possible. And Self Defense is also a waste of time in a combat or street fight. Belts are a means for Karate Schools to make alot of extra money off of people. Think 50 people taking a test at $100.00 per test $5000.00 now go and apply that in a street fight and see if your black belt will save you. I have been in 52 combat operations from  Panama ,1ST Gulf war,To working with the DEA and CIA in Colombia and Other South American Countries I also received the Silver Star, Bronze Star & Purple Heart for valor in combat so don't tell me about your little bull shit balck belt. I aslo now teach only a combat offense fighting system no bull shit self defense and if your black belt is so great then why is it not used by the elite unites of the US militry? Where as what I teach is used by the US Navey Seals, US Army Rangers and US Army Special Forces my ex unit.The only thing I am trying to do is give these ladies something they can really use in a real life encounterAnd to also teach them how to use common sense. Don't let anything that is written in a thread upset you!  Just my thought!  I can respect where you're coming from and I know what it means to offer your time to help people; yet, I don't believe Tippu30024 meant anything by what he wrote.  I had to really think hard and consider whether to let this thread go, but I'm going to judge this as not being a flame--I hope we can chill out and go ahead a have some fun while on-line!

Thanks Joey, Yes All I am doing is setting up a class for all the ladies so that they might just be able to save them self from some ass hole who might want to harm them and yes I am doing this on my on time for free so that I just might can help some one from being harmed and no strings attached. ANd yes I do know what I am talking about I have been in this profession for a long time and have laid my life on the line for my country and for my clinets as a bodyguard as well. ANd then I get A reply from someone like that who does not know what he is talking about I can verify all my background can he? I am sure you are doing an honorable thing.

By the way I did not get my black belt from a Karate School operating out of a shopping center, it is attained by 12 years of hard work.

I've been thinking of taking some self-defense/martial arts  or kickboxing lessons, but I don't want to get a black belt from a place that gives black belts to just about anyone that will pay their fees.  

Any recommendations?  I live in the Norcross area?
Any good websites you know of?

What gungfu is telling u is the truth he is a expert as well as been a body guard for high profile people and corporate...I think the class he is willing to offer the providers is fantastic especially in light of whats happen lately....He is also a very very nice man and has no hidden agendas by offering the providers a class that will might help them down the road.....Just my o2

Hi 69 Glad you are interested in Martial Arts. Yes I do know someone in Norcross Contact The Francis Fong Wing Chun School They are very good I have worked with Mr. Fong about 20 years ago and he is very good. Try and stay away from any place that tries to sale you on what they call a black belt program. A lot of these places are in to it for the money they can make off of a student. Like Belt test that is a big money maker for them. In my School I do not give any kind of a belt/ But I don't teach Karate. I grade A student by Ranks as to his or her skill level.
