Yes, providers have something to gain from people getting verified.  Essentially, it's greatly reducing the likelihood of getting arrested, robbed or raped.  If you think that the hobby is a huge conspiracy leading up to a "master sting" perhaps you should start trying your luck buying women drinks in bars.  It's clearly not for you.

As a provider, one would have to be desparate and reckless to welcome you into their location without having any information whatsoever regarding who the hell you are.
