Seeing lots of highly rated providers visiting in early October...

Is there a big event in town that I don't know about?  Or just an alignment of the heavenly bodies?

Might have to sell some assets to cover my hobby activities over the next few days!

DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga.  -- Officials here recently announced performers for the 2010 Wings Over Atlanta Air Show scheduled for Oct. 16-17, 2010. The main acts will be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Canadian Snowbirds.

"This show will be the most exciting ever because we've never had two jet teams to perform," said Lt. Col. Geoffrey Wooten, 2010 Wings Over Atlanta Air Show director.

The show will also serve as a special homecoming for two members of the Blue Angels in their final year with the team. The No. 1 pilot and flight commander, Cmdr. Greg McWherter, and the Lead Solo, Lt. Cmdr. Frank Weisser, are both from the Metro Atlanta area.

...a major aviation event at some point in October. Not sure of the exact dates.

Thats an amazing show. The Blue Angels show off the high performace of the F18 Hornet and the Snowbird are more of an aerial ballet with more formation changes during actual maneuvers. Both are excellent shows. Wish I could be there.

Great info Denna on the Blue Angels....Thanks.

I used to live in San Diego and was married to an amateur photographer who had inherited some really cool equipment.  Long story short, the lens was too powerful and all she caught was the wing of one fighter with the white trails coming off of it.  The best mistake picture I'd ever seen.  I gave up the picture to make her go away.  It's a shame; I really liked it.

Petit Le Mans (I'll be at the track in about an hour for the weekend). Go Audi! Go Johnny O'Connell (from Flowery Branch)! Also interested in the Porsche GT3 Hybrid Racer. Lots to see and experience there.

Also The Stone Mountain Highland Games 10/15-17. I'm sure it's a simple matter of the Ladies like men in kilts. I've been told that Free Men are Sexy.

The Blue Angels put on a great show.  If you're even in Pensacola, check your local paper.  You can see the Blue Angels practice for free at the Naval Air Station.

I work near Dobbins; last time the Blue Angels were here they were buzzing my building during practice prior to the show.  Amazing stuff.  Didn't get a thing done that Friday, but well worth it for the ring-side seats.

Club Patron:
1) Obviously, they have great margaritas;
2) The Patron girls are as varietal and lovely as any group of 'actresses' serving drinks at any restaurant in ATL;
3) Good music;
4) It was dry last night compared to other areas of the track.

According to Anansi ("American Gods", "Anansi Boys" by Neil Gaiman), the only three things required for a good time are "Wine, Women, and Song." So, I'm having fun.

If JimmyPW is in the Trans-AM, I also have someone to cheer for in the 'support races' this weekend - again, variety.

As far as my allegiance in the PLM goes, there's 5 classes of cars on course (6 with the Porsche GTHybrid). Again, a group as varietal and lovely as any group of cars along any "Motor Mile" neighborhood of dealerships on the planet.

So while my heart belongs to Audi, I flirt/cheat on Audi with Corvettes, Flying Lizard Porsches, Ferraris, and the occasional Peugeot.

Same as TER, no? lol

No, you don't always miss the good stuff - and as long as you're stateside, neither will I!   ;-)
