Many give the last 4 digits of the hobby phone as many keep that and/or remember it with a first name. What I ask!

well yesterday i got a call from indy for a provider reference. now i know the importance of references i know a local indy personally that was killed just this jan 1st off of an ad posted on bp so by all means if an acurate reference is needed i will give it. back to my story though, so she give me his name which were just initials basicly & his email adress which didnt ring a bell nor did it pop up in my emails. me myself i dont keep client records i have a photographic memory with #s & im good at remembering details about a client so if a # pops up in my phone i usually know who they are. so i ask her "does he want an in or outcall what side of town is he on maybe that will refreshen my memory so i can let u know have he used our service before" she imediately gets an attitude & says "u dont need to know all that what kinda operation are u running thats why hes calling an indy now & not an agency" then hangs up. now did i do sum wrong just wondering . plus i always find it helpful ive had a few clients call & pre warn me that a provider will be contacting me for a reference & i give that reference with no hesitation.... well im done with my rant everybody be safe hobbying

no, i agree with you. If someone calls for a ref you want to be able to give ACURATE info. you should be given ALL the info you need to be able to do that.  If i need to go bak and ask a prospective client for more info so I can get a ref, then that is what I do. It may take me two or maybe even three tries however, i would rather spend a few extra minutes of my time to maintin MY safety and those of my fellow providers!! Definately HER problem, not your's.
