I talked to lux yesterday and asked about when he would be posting some of his talent. He told me he was in the middle of restructuring and we should see them back in action in a few days or so.

Lux was arrested for pimping and the newish blonde Alicia for prostitution.

I think that most of the guys here turn a blind eye to what might be called the "dark side" of the hobby.

I imagine that there might be a few providers out there that do this because they enjoy it (i kinda get the impression that you are one of those Deanna ). However, i think that most of the providers do so out of necessity, given a choice they would do something else to make money.

Most everyone has an opinion and a "vision" of what a pimp is and does. HBO regularly runs specials on this and the media and internet is awash with stories.

Any providers out there who are not truly independent and are "working" for someone gives up something. From the highest end agencies to Pimps running Street walkers. Even the high end agencies here in ATL take 40% of the money for marketing, security, location etc etc. I am sure when it gets to the other end of the spectrum that can be 100% or close to it.

By definition all "managers" - regardless of what you call them - don't make money unless the girl is working. Consequently they work the girls hard. That's why you see so many of them advertising multiple times a day, most days a week.

There is a big difference when you hire young girls, take them to the hotel leave them with no transportation make them see 10 appointments a day and take 50% of what they make and then take their phone daily to make sure they aren't talking to someone they are not supposed to.  Not to mention when they try to leave he contacts friends and family outing them for working. Oh his form of screening is to sit in the parking lot of the hotel to see who comes and goes.
I don't know any agency in town that does that other than Lux and maybe one more that has resurfaced.
To me that is a true pimp and doesn't resemble the services that most of the agencies in town provide.  Such as advertising, professional photos, adequate screening, safe incall inviornments.  Most agency owners actually do care about the well being of the ladies that work there.

For realizing that most of us do care. I know I do! People like Lux wouldnt exist if you guys didnt support him. I have heard much worse what you mention above. Sad that these girls think thats the way it is.. They dont know any better so they stay. I think? Some Pimps have crossed over and now have nice websites.. You wouldnt know if its a Pimps or not.. They post and advertise here just like anyone else.

Interesting use of an alias.

Not meaning to inflame the discussion, but i would really like to understand the initial condemnation of this one individual as compared to others.

For the purposes of discussion - lets assume that the half dozen or so ATL Agencies that are regularly discussed on this board, whose managers regularly participate in the discussions and generally provide a high level of service to the ATL community are elevated from the discussion.

Open up BP or CV (never mind CL previously) and i would contest that anywhere between 50-75% of the ads are posted for girls that are not independents or represented by the agencies above - i.e. they have pimps or madams.

Mathematically that's probably a  hundred+  girls in this category and a whole bunch of pimps.

All of them presumably use some form of "motivation" to get and keep the girls working for them.

So my question rephrased would be - what makes this one individual different from all the rest?

If you don't understand the condemnation of this individual, then shame on you.  Yes, different agencies use different forms of "motivation".  Such as decent pay, a safe environment, so on and so forth.  So I guess you are saying that if one guy "slaps his hoes" and another treats her with decency and respect, they are on the same level?  We're talking apples and oranges here, and I fail to understand why you think that upscale Atlanta agencies are even comparable to some BP pimp who treats his girls like shit.  I don't know the man, but I have heard from girls who worked for him that he treated them terribly.  If you fail to see the difference between an agency that provides a safe, upscale incall location, professional photography, and allows you to limit the number of clients you see to a number comfortable to you, and then a pimp who drops you off at some hotel with no transportation and sends an endless train of men to see you, then maybe you're not so clever.  What difference does it make what the percentage of women are that are "managed" by someone on Backpage?  If it's someone of the same lowly sort, I would condemm them as well.  I used to work for an agency, as most of you all know, and I was always treated with respect and felt safe.  So to me, it's like you're asking why someone like Lux is being denounced when people like Bella, Jasmine, and Monica are not.

I think mallory put it best the other day in a thread about pimps.I will never knowingly see anyone that has a PIMP.It is promoting a form of mental and all too often physical entrapment .I  hope to help these girls be independant and know friendships and similar great providers ,as their is strength in numbers.
And yes I'm no saint(by a long shot), but they can sure use a few more of us hobbyist giving a little vs taking all the time!

Shameful and not-so-clever are character flaws that i undoubtedly possess,  but I can assure you that i am quite able to understand your condemnation and to distinguish between the various strata within our hobby.

As you and PT have very eloquently commented, not all "agencies" are born equal. Hence why my second post sought to narrow the question down to an apples to apples comparison, to use your metaphor.

Had you read my second post. (duh )....you would have seen that i rephrased the question to why the condemnation of this particular individual and not all others in his "class". This forum is intended for an open and frank exchange of ideas and opinions and i am sure i was not alone in wondering why this individual was apparently being singled out.

As an aside, my reasoning for quantifying the number of girls in ATL (and on BP) that appear to be "managed" was to contrast the sheer numbers of girls in that situation versus indie or with a more respectful agency.

I think that the answer to Deanna's question earlier about why guys promote these individuals by visiting their girls is fairly simple - supply and demand.

First there is a difference from a pimp and an agency owner and I would hope that you can see the difference.  Most agency owners work with their employess to accopmplish the ladies goals and the agencies goals.  They don't force or intimidate the ladies into doing anything.  If the ladies don't like the arrangement they are free to move on and do their thing without intimidation, threats or beatings.
To reply to you question on the BP and Cityvibe pimps that advertise there I can only say that I know the situation with the person in question and how abusive he is and can be. As for the other pimps in town with one exception I don't know how they run their business.  I wouldn't begin to speculate because when I know its a pimp I personally try to stay away.
As for the alias this is one of the good examples in my mind when one would want to remain unknown.

If you spend enough time on the usual ad sites, you recognize where the ads are being placed by someone other than the girls themselves. i may be way off base, but it appears that a large portion of girls posting are run by pimps or madams in the background. They may not use that term, but that is what they are.

I am sure that there are guys on here that ONLY ever see what they believe to be independents or girls from the aforesaid agencies. However, i believe - certainly looking at a cross section of reviews - that most guys on here frequent girls who are otherwise managed.

Chances are if you see a girl in a house with other girls, or if she phones "a friend" when you get there, or someone calls when your time is up, or multiple girls using the same phone number or the girl doesn't know what was in the ads for her - chances are that she may have a pimp or madam. Not always - and i am sure some girls genuinely work with "friends" and they call each other for safety etc.

Mathematically if there are 6 reputable agencies in Atlanta with 10 girls each (60) plus another 20 that are indies - we have about 80 girls working in ATL in the "good" part of the business. There must be a few hundred girls regularly posting, working and being reviewed on TER. If everyone boycotted these girls today today and only saw the girls in the "good" classification - what would the hundreds of ATL hobbiests do?

If that logic holds up - then all if not most of us at some time "support' a pimp or madam - i.e. the bad and the ugly.

In answer to Deanna comment - if that is correct, then we either genuinely don't know or we reconcile it as "acceptable".

There does not appear to be an appetite for this type of discussion here and i guess we all have to set our moral compasses as we best see fit.

I have never visited any of Lux's girls. I have been tempted, but I had the impression that they were somewhat high volume and that did not appeal to me. But I had no clue that there was anything like this going on. Being with a woman who has had ANY of her ability to choose compromised is not for me. Thanks for posting this.

Frankly I think a good point is being made by xxx that there is a dark side to this hobby that many patrons turn a blind eye to.  Also I would venture to guess his math is not too far off making the dark element at least as prevalent as the upscale providers.  I also think that like it or not economics comes into play.  Spending $200 to $400 for a half hour to an hour of an upscale ladies time is not in everyone's budget.  So a market gets created for a different level of service as a result.  So the concept of just not frequenting the dark side of the hobby is difficult to effectively implement as a result.

So yes condemn Lux, but also condemn a good portion of Backpage as well.

By the way I really have to chuckle at the media.  Massive fury over Craigslist yet very little talk of Backpage which has become in my opinion what Craigslist was.
