Hi everyone!

I’ve been especially craving Italian, someplace with charm, great pasta, and maybe a thoughtful wine list. Nothing too formal, just delicious and inviting!

If you have any favorites in the Atlanta area, I’d really appreciate your recommendations. I’m also open to spots in the surrounding suburbs. I have my eye on a few places already, but the area felt a little tricky to navigate, so I thought it might be better to ask here.

Since you already have a few places in mind, do you mind sharing the area they are in? I may be able to help.

For recommendations, I have heard really good things about Bellina Alimentari and they even offer pasta making classes.

Thank you so much, your help is truly appreciated!

So far, I have only two places on my list that really speak to what I’m looking for:

1. Sotto Sotto (Inman Park): Cozy and romantic, with traditional Italian fare. It seems like a lovely spot for an intimate dinner. That said, I’ve heard mixed things about the Inman Park area at night, while it’s trendy and full of charm, I’d want to be mindful of parking and overall safety, especially later in the evening so I’m a little concerned.

2. Cibo Beve (Sandy Springs): This one seems perfect for elegant dining in my opinion, with a more relaxed, suburban feel. I imagine the area is quieter but I haven’t really been able to confirm much about the sandy springs area.

Not sure if you have any insight on these areas as far as crime and safety goes but if so, I’d love to know.

Regards,
Ally V

I can't help with navigation as I haven't been to Atlanta in well over a decade since I last went to Dragon.  But, I'm a food nerd and I've heard good things about La Grotta and (as you've already mentioned) Sotto Sotto.  Good luck in your culinary quest!

Carbonara, which is in Dunwoody, is an outstanding Italian restaurant. Great food....family owned and operated....and a very nice atmosphere. Easy parking...very safe area....highly recommended!

Glad I could be of some help at least! I don't have a lot of insight for Inman Park just because I'm not there often. But the neighborhood is very historic to Atlanta and from my opinion a generally safe area. You may run into some homeless individuals if you stray far enough from the restaurant but that's about it. Parking can be tricky and limited as some streets are street parking based. I see that Sotto Sotto offers valet parking if yo want to have a sure thing. If not, you may have to park a little farther from your destination or uber depending on the distance between Sotto Sotto and your lodging. There is a Reddit group (r/Atlanta) that offers many places for parking if you type in Inman Park.

Sandy Springs definitely has more of a suburban feel and is quieter after business hours. Traffic can be hectic during the day. Parking is easier here than Inman Park, but does not offer the artsy vibe and walkable feel that Inman Park has.

Absolutely! Most metropolitan areas have groups for things like that, local happenings, jobs, you name it.

Oh, c'mon!  Can we slow this stuff down a bit?  I'm barely caught up to the year 2014 and still coping with not having a physical Yellow Pages.  I gotta get a part time tech nanny.

Cibo is fantastic! Great food, crowd and an overall hospitality is well executed!
