I hear tell of a very generous lady that sometimes offers, for example, a $50 or $100 donation with a check or money order and the lady reduces her donation rate accordingly. Perhaps not dollar for dollar, after say a $100 donation but a sliding scale thereafter. For example, a special that offers a dollar-for-dollar reduction up to $100 and $25 reduction for each $100 thereafter. A Win-Win-Win situation.
Email me if you want any further info. And if the lady I'm referring to above wants to contact you, I'm sure she would be a more valuable resource.
Good luck, and kudos for participating in a non-profit fundraiser.
I give lots of time to various charities including juvenile diabetis and ms, but I dont like to give money. I have found that its harder to get a reciept for money and then you cant get a tax credit.
Besides the selfish attitudes displayed on here say that a few white knights would give(for some kind of recognition) and the rest would either bitch on here about upsell or else expect physical compensation. I say kudos for all you are doing for your health and the comminity, but I wouldnt waste my time with these others. This is just my opinion though so go for it if you think positive things would follow.
If you want to try to test market this idea first, I'm a very altruistic kind of guy myself, and would gladly volunteer for that role.
and I'd think most guys would be willing to chip in something, especially since it's check or money order. I certainly would.
I probably wouldn't feel too comfortable being asked for a donation (albeit to a charity) after/before a session. I feel it would put the client on the spot and feel obligated to donate.
That being said, posting a way for members of this community to donate (via weblink, the charity website, etc) would be a good way to raise money for a great cause.
Best of luck with the training.
Hey Pretty Lady -
If this is with your regular clients, I'm sure they are comfortable enough with you to hear about your cause and request for support. Perhaps run a specific ad here that is for that purpose alone and allow gents/ladies--whether they are clients or not to support you via back channels.
What marathon are you training for? Good luck!

on another note, though, I don't think running marathons is very healthy, but that's your decision
Onel lady used to "discount" if you brought a toy for her to give for toys for tots. Charity is always a welcome topic.

I would/ will support you and yours.
The beautiful grad student from U of West GA who contracted that unfu*kingbelievable disease when she fell from a zip line is in need of blood. Anybody out there who is O neg understands . She could also use as many positive vibes and or prayers you can send her way too.
She has been in my thoughts alot. From her pictures she looks like a bubbly, full of life girl.
I don't see what the problem would be at all.
You're the business owner here; and you're offering a way to do a good thing for charity. Your market will tell you yes or no by the amount of donations received.
I say good on ya for trying to do something for charity.
I think thats wonderful that you're doing that! I would think a lot of guys would like this too. I dont think it would hurt to ask seeing how it is for a good cause ![]()
Hugs and kisses

Im also not worried about 50 bucks either. In febuary I donated 2 eight hour days to juvenile diabetis. Thats worth a lityle more than 50 bucks. Even though I make pennies for a living. Before that I donated a 3 day weekend to habitat for humanity. Im sorry if it seems like im pooping on your parade, but im really not. When I think giving to charity its always big. So thats why I said reciept. I love your idea just trying to save you some dissapointment. And judging by the amount of responses you got I must be wrong about the selfish personalities involved. Although I havent read the other posts yet. I betting they are mostly good ones. Good luck and I hope your charitable endevor goes as well as possible.
Just sounds like a way to bring more drama and stress to your life.
Dudes will expect something for the little xtra contribution.
keep hobby activities separate from the rest of your life.
Tell me who to write the check out to, and I'll make sure you get it. It won't be much because I'm tapped right now, but what you're doing is beautiful. I'll make sure you get it when you get it in a week or so.
