Alright people, I'm taking a poll to see if people like using the new beta site or sticking with the old one.

If you haven't used the new site yet, I've provided a link.

The mods have differing opinions, some can stand it, while others HATE it.  I would like to hear the opinions from the users perspective as this would help us make the site better.

Thanks for your assistance and if you do not wish to voice your opinion in public, you are more than welcome to PM me your thoughts.

Do not really like the new site. I guess people will get used to the new site but the old one appears to be easier to look at.

I don't really see any improvements and I miss the way threads are organized on the old site.

I don't care for the new site.  It is not as readable as this one (small fonts and font color).  The top line menus may be a little better but not enought to overcome the other minuses.  I like that the message boards show all the replys without having to paginate for each message, however, it is hard to track which reply goes with which message.

Keep the old one.

New one is cumbersome and requires so many clicks to get somewhere... besides, looks like it drops some posts on this board, for example my post about robbery in gwinett doesn't seem to show up on the new site.  It's pretty clear to me that the new site is designed based on programming ease, and not from the perspective of a user...  but o well, guess they are trying...

First time Ive looked at it and all I can say is BLECH!!!!

Horrible and  a waste of time and money! Im all about if it and broke then why fix it? The whole look is cheesy and the navigation is convoluted and confusing.. And we dont get to see inside the thread until you click on it. Why would they do that? That takes away our ability to decide if we want to participate in the discussion or not easily..

sigh.. Im sticking with the old on for as long as its here and hopefully they give that upgrade a quick trip to the recycle bin.

One thing. It looks like as if you post in an older thread, does it come back to the top again? The new one for me shows on top an older thread  the animalistic thread one on top.. Is that what happens? That could be the only good thing if that is correct, my assumption.

but there are a couple of nice things about the new one. Not enough to switch (IMHO). One thing I really like is that in the reviews you can see the ladies rating average without having to click her link to see the reviews. That's nice.

The color scheme is not well thought out (again, IMHO). Light blue on a white background with small text?

Like others have said, I'll stick to the current layout until forced to change. Maybe TER could give the users a choice (as part of their profile) as to which layout to use?

I like some of the features like the "TER Top 10" but it bothers me that Atlanta is not available for the "TER Top 10" selection.  I do "new reviews" searches on other cities sometimes just out of curiosity and I it seems to me that Atlanta is one of the most active cities.

That's a minor complaint.  Mostly I just like the old site and don't see why the new features cannot be implemented in the framework of the old site.

I dont like the new site at all. I have to agree with PT, if it aint broke dont fix it! I like to see all the people that respond without having to click on that thread. That is just one of the many things about it I dont like.
I like things just the way they are.

Overall the new site will be better once in final form, but i agree staff needs to reconsider choice of fonts, and other readability issues.

I have to laugh at the reaction because everyone hated the current site when it came out. In fact TER was  forced to keep the old site running  for months after launching the new site, because the number of complaints.

I do think it is good that that there is a continued effect to try to improved the site.

using it now as my "go to"...over the current-antiquated (?!) site. everything is easier to use. WHAT am I missing from old site?

Now, if only the darn "posting time" could be fixed on the Board. Hotblonde2010 is right, she posted at 11:50am on Sunday, and the time stamp was 3:52 PM, that's not even Pacific Time (3 hour time difference), but a 4 hour difference.

PST is behind us, not in front of us. If the time stamps are in PST and she posted at 11:50 AM, it should show up as 8:50 AM. As it stands now it looks like she posted at 6:52 PM EST (as in, in the future).

If it says 8:52 on her screen, it's showing up correctly. For some reason on ours it's not.

I do like the new look - much more modern.

The pages seem to load faster. (Same computer, same internet connection)

As far as the threads are concerned...
 a) I like the "bump" feature...let's you see the most active threads first.
 b) I like that more threads can fit on one page...my ad can stay on the first page longer, lol!
 c) I also like that you can click on the OP's post and see the entire thread without having to click on each additional post, GREAT for themed/pic threads, but...
 d) It's somewhat confusing as to what anyone is replying to, the OP, or another response, as they're organized by time of post.

Speaking of "time" is there some sort of settings page on the site where I can change it to show EST? (I am posting this at 11:50am on Sunday, btw)

What does anyone think of the "Saved Searches" function? I would think that would be helpful for the guys.

Looks pretty, but lacks ease of use.

Lost my ability to right click on tabs and open extra browser windows (standard browser feature).

I like the site itself. I like the added features like the "Top 100" etc. Info is displyed in a better way, IMHO, but not leaps & bounds better.

One of the main reasons I like TER is because it is so much different than all the other message boards. I want to look at all the replies to a post because a lot of times just the one line reply is funny enough to make me click on it.

I think that it unfairly categorizes providers as well. The top 100 reviewed providers is what it should be instead of just top 100.

I think that the way that it looks is cheesy and way too complicated. I like the plain way that the current ter looks with the easy navigation on the left and top.

There are some features I like but way more that I don't like. It looks like a cookie cutter replica of A LOT of other message boards with little to distinguish itself.

Took only a quick look. One suggestion would be to list new reviews by the region instead of top ten.

Really doesn't matter.  I will get used to the new version like I did with the current one.  Here are my comments:

1. I like the ratings with the new reviews but what is the rating for, looks or performance or an average of both?

2. I don't know the statistics about how hobbyists use TER so converting the home page to be a "personal" page may be unimportant except for a minority of the hobbyists.  If so, this makes my page irrelevant and would prefer to have the Discussion  or Reviews Boards be my home page.

Thanks for letting us comment

Its about time ter got updated, I love the new look and the new feel makes it so much more up to date and makes reading the threads easier to determine what is something that might be of interest and what might jut be an ad post..
